So helpful and so convenient

A genuine boutique hotel perfectly positioned 2 minutes' walk from the awesome Bosphorus and 10 minutes' steady stroll to the doubly awesome heart of the Old City. The rooftop terrace, with views over the Bosphorus, is to die for. Could have stayed there all week! Our room was spacious, clean and well provisioned with boutique-style decor and furnishings. Breakfast buffet is a brilliant celebration of local fresh ingredients (loved the dripping honeycomb) and baking. The complimentary afternoon tea offered a very civilised way of winding down after a hot day's sightseeing. The greatest thing about this lovely hotel, though, is its staff. Unfailingly friendly and helpful but discreet and unintrusive, they engage with individual guests immediately through a warm and welcoming introductory drink and orientation discussion. Doesn't have all of the facilities of a big hotel but more than makes up for that in so many other ways. We'd definitely choose the Amira again.

Great location and excellent staff!

We had the great pleasure of staying Hotel Amira on a recent trip to Istanbul. The location is great - less than 10 minute walk to the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya. Fantastic views from the rooftop lounge. Wonderful afternoon tea. And the staff is excellent - friendly, extremely helpful. I would definitely stay there next time I visit. One of my better hotel experiences.

Lovely hotel in Sultanahmet

These guys go above and beyond! High attention to detail and prompt friendly service, if you're a solo female traveller they also keep the creeps away. Breakfast is impeccable with loads of fresh food choices, cereal, cold meats, cheese, nuts, fruits and bread and a plethora of preserves. I stayed in the single room with Queen Bed, loved it!! Did not want to leave the room! Terrace is nice, no real view though and no pool - didn't get a chance to hit the fitness centre but I'm sure it'd suffice, all I know is there's a jacuzzi down there, so try to make the time, unlike myself! Honestly, if you're in Fatih, treat yourself and book here :)

Beautiful small hotel. The stuff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Very good breakfast and a complimentary tea in the afternoon. Location is perfect -five minutes to all the major attractions. Stayed in the hotel just for one night -had 24 hours layover in Istanbul. Everything was just perfect

Superb Hotel close to The Blue mosque e.t.c.

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Basically everything.
Cons: There was a slight confusion over our final bill which was resolved very quickly. It may be an idea to bring in a system of signing for drinks e.t.c.
Location: The location is perfect for the Blue Mosque, Ayasofya,The topkapi palace and the Basilica cisterns and the Sultanahmet tram stop to get around town.
When we arrived at the Amira Istanbul Hotel we were met by Emre the manager and given a beer and a very concise guide to the hotel and the surrounding area. He gave us a few names of restaurants and the types of cuisine available and overall I would say that we were made to feel very much at home.

The right price in the right location

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. We loved the rooftop welcome to the city and hotel. Very quiet rooms on a potentially noisy street.
Location: Depending on the weather and your interest in walking, many important sites are within a short walk -- the Blue Mosque, Suleymayah and Hippodrome
We were searching for a hotel in Istanbul for 3 days of sightseeing. The Hotel Amira was clean and perfectly well situated near the Blue Mosque. Many good restaurants are nearby but the hotel roof also has a very good restaurant served by the most friendly hotel staff. Breakfast and tea with lots of sweets and snacks are included in the very reasonable price. You can't go wrong.
