Great service, close to tourist places

Posted Feb 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
Really impressed with the service in the hotel. Reception very helpful. Free tea/coffee always nice. It's a little bit further from the tram stop than some others (10 mins max walk) but lots of nice restaurants locally and close to many of the tourist sites. We didn't use the 5 euro per person transport to the airport but this may be useful to know.

Within walking distance of tourist attractions

This is the second time I have used this hotel as the final weekend at the end of a long business trip; spending the weekend as a tourist in a fascinating city. The hotel lacks the amenities of major chain hotels, but has the flavor, almost, of a B&B. The staff are great; very helpful and friendly. The location is centrally located in the historic Sultanahmet district. Rooms are bit small, but clean and comfortable. Excellent wifi.

Close to blue mosque

The hotel room was of more luxurius standard than what I had expected. The main tourist locations were just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. All in all, I would recommend this hotel.

Good hotel

Location: Sultanahmet for the best tourist sites
Very satisfied with the Hotel Aslan. Excellent location in a quiet street only a few minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and Haghia Sofia. Breakfast was good, served on the roof terrace with views over the Bosphorus. Minor fittings in the room needed attention.

Poor value for the price

Posted Oct 18, 2009 on Hotels.com
Location was good (in old city) and the included breakfast was nice, but ... * room was extremely small, with inadequate furnishings. No place to put suitcases, no shelves or drawers, no table, bench, chair, etc. Only place to put suitcases was on the floor, to be tripped over. * shower stall in bathroom was disgusting: large amounts of black mold around the bottom; missing part of the shower door, which resulted in flooding of bathroom floor. We checked out other hotels nearby. Several were better value for the money, but we had already prepaid so could not change hotels.
