Hotel Evsen

nice small hotel in historic sultanahmet, istanbul area. staff friendly and rooms are clean.

During our stay, I walked into the room to find one of the housekeeping staff laying on my bed while talking on the phone (never cleaned the room). I complained to the management, and did not even receive an apology. The "complimentary free" breakfast is not good, it would be better to find a restaurant near by to eat. The room is incredibly small, I have stayed in hostels bigger than this room. But, I did not mind the small room as much but certainly am concerned about the staff etiquette. The only good quality is the hotel is in a good location.

We enjoyed our two night stay at Hotel Evsen. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and well-kept. We one down side is the room size. We had a room in the back with no window and it was a very small room, maybe 8 feet by 10 feet. But we weren't there to stay in our hotel room, so we didn't mind. We enjoyed the continental breakfast as well...good selection of cheeses, pastries, yogurt and hard-boiled eggs. The location is wonderful...close to all the main historic sites.

Difficult for taxi driver to find but once there it meet my needs

Stayed 2 nights at Evsen. Loved it. Location is perfect. At a pedestrian street with lots of restaurants and drinking places, yet walking distance to Sultanhamet and Grand Bazaar. 10 min walk to Spice Bazaar. Tram station Gulhane is 2 min walk away. Staff at reception are so helpful and friendly, giving me good recommendations. Room is smallish but functional and have everything I need. Would definately stay there again.

It was a clean comfortable room (without a window) and the breakfast was great, but there is no access to the hotel by taxi as the road is blocked off.

Very good value for money and nice staff!

Although our room was clean and the bed comfotable i would not recomend this hotel to anyone. It was very small, like the size of a cupboard.The most dreadful thing was that there was no window in the room so no daylight whatsover and no fresh air.This made for a very uncomfortable stay. You had no idea what time of day or night it was when you woke up.We have been to Istanbul many times and although you dont get much for your money this was the worst place we have stayed

Great location, rooms are quite small, on a pedestrian street close to Topkapi. Good value for price.
