“Will definetely go back.”
it's clean, with a helpful staff, and very convenient located in the old city, if you intend to visit all the tourists attractions in the area.
“it is all about location and friendly staff”
Location, location, and location. My favorite hotel in Istanbul
“Beware by recommendations by personel”
Do not ask the personel at the front desk about a shop to buy a carpet, or a trip to the Bosforus. The opinions given by them are not imparcial the shops to buy rugs are very expensive
“Nothing much to fault”
Saba Hotel is a perfectly decent tourist hotel, the greatest asset of which is its location, within spitting distance of the Blue Mosque. The hotel is plain and functional with wifi only in the lobby. Staff was always eager to help and seemed almost disappointed that we didn't need them much for recommendations. When we did ask though, they were well informed and professional. The breakfast room on the fifth and top floor was bright and offered great views. On check-in, ask for room 403 or 404 if available; we were told they could not be booked in advance. They are the only rooms with balconies and it was incredibly pleasant to come back after a day out and gaze at the sea or at the six minarets of the Blue Mosque that looked almost close enough to touch. A little lack of attention to details: I booked a car pick-up from the airport. The driver from the service they use was not waiting on arrival. I had to call twice before he came to meet me at arrivals and then I had to wait again while he collected other customers for another hotel. I was under the impression I'd booked a private transfer, not a shuttle. All in all, the process took over an hour. Finally, despite haing print outs of our e-mail correspondence on the desk, reception was unaware of details we had gone over before arrival (guest names, type of room, number of beds) but fortunately we were able to obtain what we had asked for when we checked in. No bells or whistles, but a reasonable choice nonetheless.
“Nice budget hotel”
My stay at Hotel Saba was very pleasant and a good value, given it's excellent location. It was within a short walk of all the major sights in the Sultanahmet. It was also very close to the light rail. The room was small and there was no bedside lamp, and I discovered the morning of my departure that the phone didn't work. But it was clean and quiet, and relatively comfortable.
“Great Hotel - Great City”
The location is perfect for visiting such sights as Aya Sofia, Sultanahmet Mosque, Top Kapi and Basilica Cistern. Also very convenient train line near the hotel. I liked there everything from hotel staff which was very friendly till the screaming of seagulls :))) during the breakfast!!
“Friendly, wholesome atmosphere.”
Small enough to be personal, large enough to have services.
“lovely, cozy and a roomy hotel in the right location”
Saba was like a meeting point to share the wonderfull moments. We have made good friends who I still correspond with .The view from the breakfast saloon was perfect like the staff, quests, seagulls:).I loved there.Stay there again... I candidly recommed you this hotel.Because I did know the whole hotel is clean, quiet and there are so friendly people working there.
“Location is great & friendly staff”
The Saba is a little hotel just around the corner from the Blue Mosque and the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts. The location is superb. You are in easy walking distance of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia and Topkapi. The Grand Bazar can be reached by a longer walk or a quick ride on the Tram. The easy access to the Tram makes the whole city accessable. The rooms are a little small and spartan but two of the rooms have terraces with views of the Blue Mosque and the Sea of Maramara. We stayed in one of them, Room 404, and thought it was worth the extra money. We found the staff to be helpful, competent and friendly. We tend to like to explore on our own but the staff made a few reservations for us and made good recommendations. They were quite happy to set up tours and such and always helpful.
“Wouldn't recommend”
Perfect location and helpful staff. But rooms are very tiny and noisy. Not enough hot water to accomodate all guests. Overpriced.
