Excellent location just near the "Blue Mosque"

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, air-conditioning
Cons: Fridge. Breakfast could include some fresh fruit or turkish coffee.
Location: Sultanahmat and all tourist attractions of this area of Istanbul.
Good value for money, helpful staff who organised a trip to Gallipoli, very central and quite comfortable.

Poor value

Posted Apr 20, 2014
Being on a "tourist" street probably bunps up the rateb of a very basic hotel. The staff on reception make no effort to create a good impression, smoking while checking me in. Other than the location not a lot to recommend the place

Good location, poor condition.

Posted Jan 5, 2014
Pros: Location and staff.
Cons: Conditions are very poor. It needs to be refurnished and repainted. The bathrooms need lots of attention. Breakfast needs serious make over.
Location: Stone throw away from Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, tons of good restaurants, etc.
The hotel is perfectly located near all popular tourist sights. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the condition of the hotel and the room I stayed were awful. I really don't mind simplicity in hotel rooms, but cleanliness is a must specially when you are paying good money for it! The bathroom had not been cleaned properly before we checked in. Soap bars from the previous guests were still lying around. The toilet was thick with limescale, really disgusting. The shower was dirty and there was a pubic hair in the soap dish (this is not a joke). I stayed a few nights, the towels and bed were not changed once. Breakfast was served in the terrace, which has really good views. However, the food was absolutely disgusting. You can hear noise in the corridors and reception, also smell people smoking in the building.

Ida Hotel Istanbul

Posted May 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Ida hotel, is a small hotel, perhaps closer to a B&B than a hotel. It is well situated in the historical center of Istanbul, three minutes walk from Hagai Sophia. It is basic, but well run, the staff are very friendly and attentive. It is suitable for those who will spend there time out and about seeing the many sights of this fabulous city. It has little to offer in the way of aminites for those looking for a relaxing break centered around the hotel. However it was ideal for our needs and at a very reasonable price, considering the central location.

Excellent location

Posted Nov 7, 2012 on Hotels.com
It is a good base for exploring the main sights as all are with easy walk of the hotel. There are plenty of places to eat all around the immediate area. As stated in other reviews stated noise is a problem which may be helped by a door from reception to stairs?Breakfast is taken on the roof with wonderful views across the Bosphorus but unfortunatly it does not live up to the view!On the whole it is a good base at a good price for a city centre hotel

Very Groovy Place!

Posted Nov 7, 2012
Pros: The owner and staff
Cons: Maids day off.
Location: On a street in the heart of Sultanamet. Walking distance to the Grand Bazaar.
This place is located on a very groovy street. Lots of restaurants and rooftop cafe's. The new owner and staff really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Rooms are smallish yet VERY comfortable.

A satisfactory stay

Posted Oct 13, 2012
Pros: The location.
Cons: The stairs.
Even though we arrived very early in the morning the staff were happy to let us in - unfortunately this caused confusion later in the morning when housekeeping arrived expecting to find an empty room! The breakfast was ok and the location was good - although there are a massive number of hotels just on this street alone. The one drawback are the steep stairs - it's a very narrow building - they can be tricky to negotiate with bags. Overall though, it was a very satisfactory stay.
