“DEC 2011 Trip”
This was my first trip to Istanbul and my son who is a student in the University there recommended the Lady Diana Hotel for our stay. The location of the hotel in the historic Sultanhmet area was very convenient to many important tourist attractions and also to the Tram which is a great way to travel to many locations in Istanbul. The view from the Hotel terrace restaurant is fantastic both in the morning and evening and is exactly as pictured in their hotel advertisement with the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia close and clearly visible. The hotel, housekeeping and restaurant staff were very polite, efficient and helpful and made our stay very comfortable. The rooms were neat and clean and very user friendly if a bit small if you select one of the cheaper double rooms. The size was not really an issue during our stay as we were out most of the time and even when our son was over visiting the room was still of a sufficient size to let us all rest between our excursions around the city. Highly recommend this hotel and a trip to Istanbul.
“Can't wait to go back”
Rooms were extremely clean, the buffet had an amazing assortment of delicious food every day and the location was perfect.
“Best staff”
I had a great time here, some of the nicest hotel staff I have ever met
“Convenient and affordable”
Pretty nice hotel in the middle of everything. Just steps from Hadja Sofia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Cistern etc. Incredible view from the roof restaurant. Room was pretty small looking at the wall. Great breakfast. Internet in the room is free, but slow and breaking up every 10 min. There is a hammam and a sauna in the hotel for extra charge, pretty good, too bad it only works till 10pm. Staff is very friendly but often trying to sell you overpriced outside restaurants and other attractions (probably they are getting commissions from outside vendors). Don't use the airport shuttle service they are offering - more than twice as expensive as you can get from any nearby travel agency.
“great location”
This hotel is located in the very convenient area.
“Great location, awesome hotel, Can't wait to go back”
Thank you for making our trip memorable. I truly enjoyed my stay at Lady Diana Hotel and can't wait for my next visit to Istanbul, Turkey.
“Good place and service!”
Good hotel
“OK”
Inspiring rooftop views of the Blue Mosque over a pretty decent breakfast. Location doesn't get better in the heart of Sultanahmet. Offset by a room which, though clean enough, was so small it could double as a broom closet. Spotty internet was not aided by the surly desk help. Motion sensors on the hall lights made me think that I was staying in a halfway house. Overall: cheap and you get what you pay for!
“Well Located”
The hotel is relatively good. Lovely terrace and very good located for me as a tourist. The only thing I did not like is the air conditioning system which is very old and improperly working.
“Terrible Air Conditioning System during the day in Summer but Location is Superb”
I was amazed to know that my room was taken out or there was a problem the hotel was facing as they asked me to wait for 2 hours until we get the room which we booked. They didn’t welcome us properly or at least provide cold drinks which I had to pay for unlike my stay in Malaysia last year. Once the 2 hours were over, one of the reception staff suggested providing a temporary room in Arcadia Istanbul Hotel which was a walking distance. We agreed to go there but were terrified in the other hotel’s room as Air Conditioning wasn't working mid-day at 2 till 8 PM which made me upset and I had to call the hotel reception and ask them to send a technician or a maintenance guy. This didn't happen and the receptionist asked me to wait a couple of hours before the A/C starts cooling the room which is an unacceptable answer to me. Also, the receptionist was very rude and asked me when I will leave back to my hotel as they are giving me a favour in providing this room. I believe that there is no free lunch in this world and I am paying for my supposedly relaxing vacation/stay. Once I went back to Lady Diana, I had a problem with their breakfast timing as they served breakfast between 7 and 10 AM and I shared my concern with the Hotel Manager but he didn’t do anything about it. I suggested that they either need to extend the timing like many other hotels I have been to before or send breakfast to the rooms requesting it.I had to pay for my breakfast every single day at 11 AM.
