Excellent!

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Cons: Breakfast could be improved a little, more selection.
Lovely little hotel close to all main attractions of Sultanahmet. Staff friendly, rooms great, bathrooms clean - what more could you ask for the price. Best of all they have family suites consisting of 2 rooms that we stayed in so everyone got their own space.

Great location, really friendly

Posted May 31, 2014
Pros: Clean, great location, helpful staff
Location: Istanbul is one of the friendliest cities for a family city break and the ease of food (kebabs, bread, meatballs, ice cream) makes it very low stress.
Excellent hotel in a great location for all the major sights of Istanbul. Situated away from the major tourist roads in a lovely street with restaurants nearby (try the superb Karina Fish restaurant at the end of the street) and a shop for water, crisps, chocolate, wine and beer just opposite. Incredibly helpful staff especially Mehmet. Family room consisted of two rooms (double and twin plus a cot and two bathrooms) with corridor and one entrance.

Hotel in perfect location to the main Sites

Posted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: Location to the main sites, and friendly staff
Cons: More activities for children and improved the variety of breakfast options, as that was limited.
Location: Many of the main site were minutes away. The grand bazaar was 15min walking distance.
Hotel in perfect Location to the main sites. 5 mins to the Blue mosque. Wifi worked well. Restraunts were very close. Shop was right outside the hotel. I found the selection of breakfast disappointing. It was the same choices every morning and a bit limited. For a family with young children, there was not much the children could do in their rooms or watch the TV as channels as they were all in Turkish. There was not roof view, as that section was closed off. On the plus side, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was perfect to many of the main sites. I would go to the hotel again, but not with young children.

Great Location near Sultanameht District

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: Location, and peacfulness
Cons: maybe some of the amenities.
Location: Right in the area of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Hippodrome, Cistern, etc. You can get to everything near by. It is also very near a Bazaar.
Right off of the back of the Blue Mosque, this tucked away hotel gives a no-frills very friendly stay to any wishing to be in the heart of Istanbul's OId City. Don't expect a great view, but what it lacks in scenery, it makes up for in location, and quiet in the middle of the night. It's within quick walking distance of the major sites, and it's safe as well. The rooms are ok in size, and don't offer much. However, they're comfortable, and breakfast is included each morning. the staff are very friendly, and the owner of the corner shop across the street is awesome.

In the middle

Posted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: The staff were really friendly and helpful and the position was fantastic.
Cons: Housekeeping not so good, but from what I can gather the housekeeping staff are understaffed for what they are expected to complete every day. The day
Location: Close to everything I wanted to see, plenty of restaurants around, Tend to be expensive and food average.
The Maritime is right in the middle of Sultanamhet. Just a couple of hundred yards away from the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia and Topkapi Palace. very central as everything is in walking distance. I enjoyed my time though on a return trip I might look elsewhere in the city for accommodation. The rooms are very small and relatively expensive for what you get. There are plenty of other alternatives around the area I would explore next time if I came here or I would probably go elsewhere in the city. Just too many tourists (as in hordes) in this area and all is geared towards getting their money as one would expect. Having said that wherever I stay to would need to be on the Metro tram link which is just fantastic and cheap at about $1.50 a trip. It takes you anywhere you would want to go.

Great location for visiting historical sites

Posted Jan 12, 2014
Great hotel for a very reasonable price, great location for visiting all the major historical sites - all within walking distance. Tram station is also close by so getting to the new part of the city was very easy. Very helpful hotel staff.

Always stay here

This was my second stay at Mari Time. Again, it was wonderful. Comfortable rooms. Friendly and kind staff. A wonderful location. I can walk to the Blue Mosque. The next time I am in Istanbul I will stay here again.
