Pros: Front desk staff, roof terrace, breakfast
Cons: Problems with Wi-fi connection
Nice and welcoming staff, especially front desk. Great view from Sky- roof terrace restaurant. Breakfast is quite good. Not the biggest fan of the area though. Overall it's a good hotel and good value for money

Quiet hotel, centrally located
Posted Jan 5, 2013
Pros: rooms, rooftop bar, location, quiet
Cons: better coffee at breakfast!
Quiet location, short walk to both Taksim Square and to Kabatash. Mostly European clientele, many families, few tour groups.s Absolutely fantastic views from the rooftop restaurant/bar - breakfast included and great, only complaint is weak coffee. :) Rooms are nice, beds extremely comfortable. Not a lot of places for dinner close by - must walk beyond Taksim Square, so be prepared for that. I will absolutely stay here again!

Great hotel, great value.Pitty about its situation
Posted Jan 19, 2013
Pros: Service and Staff politeness
Cons: Breakfast especially the hot dishes
Location: It is situated on a steep hill & walk from Tram station (Kabatas) is extremely difficult & taxing. Not recommended for elderly or family with children
Overall great hotel except for its situation. It is situated on a steep hill and walk from public transport such as Tram station (Kabatas) is really difficult and taxing. Our package included breakfast but to be honest, I have had better breakfast menu at oher similar class hotels in Istanbul. Hot dishes menu needs fresh ideas. And as for drinks, supposedly juices, especially orange juice was anything but juice. It was powder mixed in water which after a while settled at the bottom of the container to create a kind of sludge. It tasted worse than anything I can describe.

Not a good destination hotel
Posted Jan 5, 2012
Pros: it is quite because of the 10 minutes walk to the action
Cons: Smell in the rooms
Location: Location ok.10 minutes walking distance from Taksim where the action is,
-Thsi hotel has a sewer problem and the smell in the room is very inconfortable -The location is ok. -It doesn't reflect the look of a boutique hotel. -The whole hotel is to dark -Breakfast is terrible -I would not go to this hotel in my next trip

Spectacular View, Helpful Staff Make Great Stay
Posted Jan 19, 2012
Pros: balcony, beautiful view, rainfall shower, breakfast
Cons: bathroom sewage odor
Location: optimal location for Taksim tourists desiring the bustling nightlife and wide array of restaurant options within walking distance
We stayed at the Opera Hotel for a total of five nights in two different rooms (changing rooms only because we returned to Opera Hotel after visiting Cappadocia). Our entire stay was magnificent. The accommodations and services provided by the hotel were excellent all-around. The location, a five-minute walk to Taksim Square, was ideal. Both rooms were clean, comfortable, and came with an incredible balcony-view of the Bosphorus. There was no street noise to interrupt a peaceful rest. The television was operable and the rainfall shower refreshing. iPhone docks and chargers were available. The appearance was contemporary and sleek. The room's only shortcoming was that there did exist a mild to moderate sewage odor from the bathroom (as mentioned in other reviews). It wasn't devastating but certainly noticeable. The hotel staff was polite and helpful with our questions, and requests (currency exchange, extra towels, cot, luggage, etc.) were promptly fulfilled at all hours of the night. They spoke and understood English well. The hotel breakfast was delicious, varied slightly each day, and had a regular spread of fresh cold-cuts, cheeses, fruits and vegetables. Overall, our stay at the Opera Hotel was great and we would recommend it to others looking to stay in Taksim.
