“Way above expectations.”
We had a great stay at the Pera Palace. The location is excellent - walking distance or short taxi from all the main sites. The hotel had all the modern amenities while keeping a very historic feel. The highlight was also the service which was amazing.
“Old and New World, The Best of Both”
I had the same problems as a previous reviewer but was able to get most problems corrected quickly. I could not connect to the WiFi. They sent up a tech person right away who also could not connect so they gave me a wired cable and that worked. The room was cold (Nov), changes in the thermostat had no effect. The first time I mentioned it nothing was done. The second time they immediately sent up maintenance who went into a ceiling panel & fixed the problem. The shower leaked & flooded the bathroom. I used plastic bags & towels at the edges to minimize this. But it was spacious & had a built-in marble seat & a choice of an overhead raindrop flow, a waterfall falling upon the seat or a hand-held flexible unit. You could use all at the same time. It was heavenly. The staff were all extremely professional, courteous & helpful & spoke English. The concierge staff, esp, Head Concierge, I used extensively and they were terrific. After asking about theater he researched & found me a production of Macbeth that was the best I've seen & left other info. about classical music and made reservations for me. He even continued to help me after I went on to another city! The hotel is extremely well located esp. for nightlife. I walked to everything although it is very near the tram, Metro and "Tunel" funicular. Street is quiet and upscale. Being fairly new it was extremely clean and neat, Every modern convenience but with old world elegance and charm. I loved this hotel.
“Great historic hotel in Istanbul”
Fabolous historic hotel in a great location overlooking the Bosphorus. If you book with Expedia breakfast is NOT included. We found out the hard way, ate the breakfast every day which negated the savings we obtained by booking with Expedia. The front desk should have alerted us to the fact that breakfast was not included. We have finished a land tour with another company and thus assumed that breakfast was included.
“Classic hotel in the midst of a bustling neighorhood”
Grand style hotel was recently remodeled. Excellently appointed rooms. Great service, in particular the concierge service - Kaan had excellent advice for where and when to go for eating out.
“Gorgeous historic stay in Istanbul”
Pera Palace, a beautifully decorated, meticulously restored hotel in the middle of Beyoglu, met all of our expectations and beyond. The entire hotel is a museum -- relics from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a room devoted to Ataturk's personal belongings, books and well-preserved furniture from the period, and much more. The historic elevator, the first powered by electricity in Istanbul, is one-of-a-kind. Agatha, the hotel restaurant, was also one of the few examples of world-class dining in Istanbul, as was the high tea service in the lounge. Although we were probably the youngest patrons of the hotel, service throughout our stay was impeccable. The only misstep was that the bathtub in our room did not drain very well, though I am sure that could have been an easy fix. Overall, a must-recommend for any visitor to Istanbul!
“Posh, newly renovated, good location”
A posh hotel, newly upgraded and with detailed service. You pay the price for it, but for 2 nights in Istanbul at the end of a business trip, the Pera Palace put me in comfort and close to hopping Istiklal Avenue and the Beyoglu tram line for access to the Old City. Ask for a Golden Horn view so you can see the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia and relax in old world comfort. But if you're looking for budget savings or bringing pre-teens, this probably isn't the right place.
“Must-stay in Istanbul”
A historic hotel with fantastic staff members. Unlike other famous hotel chains, this unique jewel hotel is something a traveler to Istanbul should experience. Although it was a short stay of a week, we had a wonderful time at Pera Palace Hotel with very cheerful hospitality of the staffs.
“Beautiful Hotel”
We loved staying at the Pera Palace Hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, answered our millions of questions, suggested places to eat, helped us with getting around the city, provided us with a lap tap computer and were generally kind and pleasant. The hotel is beautiful and well taken care of. We ate in the dinning room for breakfast one day but thought the continental breakfast was far too expensive but lovely to look at.
“Magical Step Back into History”
This was one of the most unquestionably positive hotel experiences we've ever had, anywhere in the world. To call this place a palace, despite the fact that it's always served aa hotel, is not hyperbole. It's regal in every regard. The service was impeccable without being stuffy or doting. It's expensive, but in this case you get what you pay for. In addition, it is well situated for convenient travel around Istanbul. It's close to Beyoglu nightlife without being in it (so is quiet#. And it's near but not too close to the major tourist attractions #e.g., the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Suleiyman Mosque, Church at Chora, Grand Bazaar, and Bosphorus cruises).
“Pera Palace a true Palace !!”
The hotel is fantastic, and on every corner beautiful art pieces.. The breakfast can be expensive at 30 euros per person however when you see what you get, you easily understand your moneys worth...I didnt like the fact that some families come with children, very loud children, and the hotel or staff doesnt limit a space for them outside the main breakfast room.. The massages i got are on the same levels of other hotels 5 stars, some spas in the world however are on another level.. The concierge is excellent, the staff are very polite and nice, all of them !! Try the main coffee shop, excellent macarons..
