Good location and quietPosted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: Location is good. Overall relatively quiet. Personal is helpful and friendly. Nice to have poems in English on the wall. Good value for money.
Cons: TV screen is too small and there is no English or foreign channel which forces you to a total cultural immersion. WIFI signal is too weak.
Location: Very central and convenient location to visit the key sites of Istanbul by foot. There is a 15th century steam bath not too far where you can relax.
Taxi was unable to find the hotel and dropped us 5 minutes away, so it would be great to make the address more precise on Expedia or add precise directions that can be printed out. Had to pay extra 30 Euro to upgrade to a room with view on the Marmara sea for one night. Room was noisy as we could hear people urinating in the toilet above us and a lady hammering the floor boards with her high heels wake us up early. A pity also the window could not be opened completely to enjoy the view fully and that the bed was too narrow in this first room. Second night on the street site was better and the bathroom & bed larger. Breakfast is not sophisticated but plentiful; nice view on the sea of Marmara from the terrace.

Small but NicePosted Jun 24, 2013
Cons: Steep stairs might be tough on older people and less than ideal for small children.
Location: Easy walk to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and the park along the sea.
Like a B&B in atmosphere, very small rooms and baths, but beautiful rooftop lounge and breakfast terrace. 20 or more restaurants within 200 meters. Outstanding management.

Fabulous Service and StaffPosted May 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
The geographic location of Poem was ideal for first time visitors to Istanbul. Its position in the Old City was close to all the visitor "must do's." We were able to walk to all of them The staff was very attentive to setting up of transportation when we wanted to venture further. Their suggestions for restaurants were "right on." The room was small; but truthfully, we didn't spend much time in the room.

Very good for a short stayPosted May 27, 2013
Pros: Personnel always very helpful
Cons: Room facing to the street
Location: Excellent-near to the Blue Mosque and excellent restaurants
Very well located hotel with specially kind personnel. Rooms were small but clean. Breakfast with very good variety such as fruit, fresh coffee, yogurt, toasts, pastry, olives, greek salad in a nice terrace on t he lower level. However, try not to be book on a room facing the street, which even though is a quiet street, a truck load material at 3 am while a was there and another day had a singer at midgnight by my window :-(

Not as Expected!!!Posted May 26, 2013
Location: walking distance to most of the attractions
We stayed in this hotel during our visit to Istanbul on April 2013. The hotel is located in the center of Sultanahmet which was the only good thing for us. The taxi had a hard time to locate the hotel and even couldn’t find the address on the GPS, he dropped us 10 min away and we had to walk through the streets and ask for the exact location. The entrance is of the Poem hotel was very disappointing for us, very old double doors located on a quiet corner that requires a major renovation. The lobby was very small with front desk. Our room was on the 2nd floor with no elevator service! Room: The room was very small and we didn’t expect it to be that small. It was very clean, the mattress was comfy but their pillow was a disaster to sleep on. The bed size was smaller than double which we didn’t like. The washroom requires maintenance and renovation, mold signs on the wall! Location: Was the best, very close to all the attraction and within a walking distance from all the attractions. Breakfast: Breakfast was a disappointment. The same everyday with no egg station or bacon and limited options. We had to get early for breakfast since some items won’t be served when it’s over!!! The staff was very pleasant and helpful, they were doing their best to help us whenever we ask them. Their internet access was a disaster in the room, it was always slow and disconnecting. The hotel is rated 3.5 starts, in my opinion and based on my experience I should be 2 starts.

Cute little hotel with a great locationPosted May 15, 2013
Lovely little hotel right in the centre of the old town. Gorgeous garden/patio area to sit and enjoy your breakfast and a cup of turkish tea. Can be a bit noisy at night as is 1 street behind where all the bars and restaurants are but we still managed to get 8 hours. Best thing about this hotel is the owners hospitatlity though, Adnan is an absolute charm and will go out of his way to make your stay the best possible.
