Great hotel with unrivalled panoramic views

Very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful roof terrace with 360 degree views over Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Bosphorus and all other Sultanahmet sites. Slightly dated rooms, but still very comfortable and good value.

Great Hotel Close to Blue Mosque

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Bathrooms were great, but rooms could be updated.
Location: Within walking distance to all the sights (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topaki Palace, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar)
Great hotel across the street from the Four Seasons Sultanahmet. Great restaurant on rooftop terrace with best view of the old city. Perfect location if want to walk past all the sites coming and going. Will stay there again!

Close to main attractions, but...

I wouldn't say I had a bad stay here, as the staff members were friendly and the location of the hotel was excellent; that said there are hundreds of hotels in the area! The first night we were given a very basic room on the first floor. It had an awful sewage smell and very noisy. We could hear all the noise from downstairs reception and street noise. It's also worth mentioning that after we'd checked in the receptionist told us they would send our luggage up and 15 mins later it still hadn't arrived, so I went down and the cases were where we left them with no indication of anyone bringing them up (it was quiet, so they can't claim they were busy) so I took the cases up myself. The next day we were moved to a room on the third floor which was much better. That night I asked for an iron but it was never brought up. The rooms were not cleaned to a great standard either. I could still smell sewage in this room too, but only really in the bathroom and more so when you're in there when the room above flushes! Breakfast was pretty average but did the job. Mainly cold, with cereals, whole fruit (not chopped), cheeses, meats, salad (always from the night before, not fresh), breads (toaster available) juices and a coffee machine. All in all, an ok hotel. There were cheaper hotels in the area I could have booked, but paid more to stay here as I thought it would be a better quality hotel, but it don't think it is. It's certainly expensive for the quality of the hotel.

Pros: Morning breakfast looking over Istanbul!
Very close to everything! The staff is helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Having there breakfast everyday with the greatest view in Istanbul really gets you ready for the day. Great price for what you get.

Beautiful views, excellent staff

Pros: I think our favorite part was Ozan, who works at the front desk. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and made wonderful suggestions.
Cons: nothing. we loved it and will return.
Location: There is no better place to be. You can see the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorus from the amazing terrace or your own room.
We were upgraded to a room with a balcony for our anniversary. Absolutely breathtaking views, 2 min walk to all attractions. We will definitely stay again. The only reason I gave it a 4/5 on hotel condition is because the bathroom had the slightest moldy smell. I am EXTREMELY particular about cleanliness and never felt grossed out by anything in this hotel. The sheets and towels were immaculate as was everything else in the room and common areas.

splendid location and splendid staff

Seven Hills Hotel is in the centre of the old city, right between the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. We had a suite overlooking the Sea of Marmara and the Aya Sofya. The staff was delightful, thoughtful, and generous. when a taxi i had ordered couldn't make it right to the hotel on account of road work, the concierge walked with me to where the taxi was parked. And did i mention that breakfast is excellent and the views in the dining room are among the best in Istabul.
