“Terrific choice!”
It's not fancy but it's clean and cozy. It's also in the most perfect location. There is a tramway station nearby, too. The staff is extremely helpful and tries to make you comfortable in every way. We have already recommended Stone Hotel to friends who will be in Istanbul this winter.
“Great location, Great staff”
The staff make the difference at this hotel - very friendly and helpful, always have a smile for you and nothing was a problem. Breakfast in the lovely courtyard was a perfect start to each morning. Great location too - 2min walking to Blue Mosque, 10min to Topkapi Palace and 15min walk to Grand Bazaar. I would definitely stay there again.
“A reliable small hotel”
The Stone Hotel is in the old Sultanahmed quarter of Istanbul, near many of the main sights. The view from the roof is fabulous. The staff are very obliging when dealing with unusual requests. Unfortunately the cafe is closed pending refurbishment, but the courtyard breakfast was fine. I I ever go back to Istanbul, this is where I will stay.
“great hotel!!!!”
great place to stay, really near blue mosque and markets but in quiet street, spotlessly clean and beautiful room with sea view, staff very friendly and helpful. breakfasts a bit dodgy though....
“good”
baby friendly although the attractions are not!!!
“A friendly oasis”
I Found this hotel extremely convenient, friendly and comfortable, for a simple little hotel. The staff speaks English and was happy to help me try some words in Turkish. The breakfast was substantial and good. The only problem was the roof top patio was closed for remodeling. I wound up going to other hotels for sunset veiwing. Hopefully the remodel will be done soon.
“Nice little hotel in Sultahahmet”
The receptionists were very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is right in the heart of Sultanahmet, everything being within walking distance, either to the sites or a metro station. The view on top of the hotel is nice; you can smoke a nargile waterpipe on the roof of their outdoor terrace, and enjoy the view while drinking a glass of wine or raki. The breakfast was a European-Turkish style continental breakfast. The rooms are a little bit small but comfortable, and there is free wireless internet throughout the hotel.
“Great little hotel”
The hotel is located in a very quiet cobbled street 5 mins from the main sites. My room was clean and bright and had everything they said it would have, but the bed was solid! I ended up sleeping on top of the duvet to see if it would give the bed some padding! Breakfast is taken in the courtyard on the ground floor which is very pleasent, and I think you can buy drinks there any time of day. The room top terrace was not used, but it was available for anyone to go and sit and look at the view. I sat up there and read the guidebook on my first morning and watched the sunset from there one evening. It was like a large balcony. The hotel wasn't easy to find, so my advice would be that you get off the tram at Çemberlitas take the road down the hill going away from the Bazaar. Follow the road to the end and take the second to last road to the right (again down hill)just before the main square. The take the second right again. The hotel is on the right next to a mosque.
“Prima Hotel”
“Fine hotel in Istanbul”
Stone Hotel was quite nice, clean, etc. Staff was very polite and helpful. Bed wasn't the best but the room was plenty clean and had a nice view towards the sea and over some old stone walls.
