Delightful ExperiencePosted Nov 21, 2013
Pros: Many "things" to like but in particular the rooftop restaurant for buffet breakfast in the morning. Sun-kissed, great views. and simply delicious !
Cons: Nothing to really "improve" other than limited English speaking by the locals (only our concierge had decent English speaking capability)
Location: All of historic Istanbul is at your feet including Spice Market, Grand Bazaar, Hamams (Turkish Baths), great restaurants, etc.
Great location on a quiet side street (Piyer Loti) in a handsome building right in the middle of the Old Quarter (Sultanahmet), 5 minute walk to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Cafes, restaurants and shopping. While we were there, they were even shooting a TV commercial right in front of the building (because of it's beauty and ease of traffic--which is notoriously "awful" in Istanbul). Rooms were very clean, elegantly appointed, Free Wi-Fi and staff (as all Turkish people we met) were very helpful and friendly. It wasn't a steal but well worth it !

Hotel SultanhanPosted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: Accessable but tranquil. Spotlessly clean
Quiet hotel just off the old City centre but 50 yards from the main tram service linking this area to the commercial and shopping area.

Superb LocationPosted Oct 22, 2013
The Sultanhan Hotel is superbly located in Sultanhamet, The Old City. The hotel is half a block away from the main street in the area. The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and Grand Bazaar are all in easy walking distance. Your will find dozens of restaurants and shops in the area. A tram runs along the main street in Sultanhamet which will connect you to the New City across the Golden Horn. The hotel features comfortable and clean rooms with small flat screen TVs and with generously sized bathtubs for a nice relaxing soak after a day of touring. The rooftop restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner where one can eat either inside or outside. The views from the restaurant of the surrounding area and the Sea of Marmara are lovely. The included breakfast is adequate with eggs, fresh fruit, cereal and cheese, but could add more imaginative choices. The hotel is on a deadend street so front facing rooms are quiet and have more of a view than those in the back that face the windows of the next building. If you like to sleep in in the morning avoid the fourth floor rooms. The rooftop restaurant is right above and you will hear the scraping of chairs as diners move to and from the breakfast buffet. Staff tries to be helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel,excellent locationPosted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: Location and restaurant were very good
Cons: Would prefer a softer bed
Location: Walking distance to Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Grand Bazar, Cisterne. Tram stop only 1 block away to Spice Market and water front
Pleasant check in, small but comfortable, clean room. Great location-within walking distance to key attractions, and close to tram stop to reach water front. Very good restaurant on the roof with terrific views.

Great Hotel + Close to all must-see sightsPosted Sep 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
Pick-up service from the airport is great - especially when you're first arriving in Istanbul and you're not sure about how to get around. The Hotel is also located close to all of the major sites in the Old City. The staff is really great and takes care of the smallest details - booking taxis, making recommendation on how to visit sites, printing off tickets for the sites etc.. Also, the view from the roof is amazing. Simply put - it's an awesome hotel.

Great location, great servicePosted Jul 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
We recently stayed at the Sultanhan Hotel for five nights. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive. The terrace restaurant served great food and the view was one of the best in Istanbul. The hotel's location is perfect. It's almost half way between the Grand Bazaar in one direction and the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia in the other. There are lots of cafes, resturants and shops nearby. Our room was clean and well presented, and a very decent size. My only criticism is that the hotel gets quite a lot of street noise in the early evenings but this tends to die down as the night goes on. Perfect hotel in an amazing city. We would stay here again!
