Pleased with hotel, as per description. Friendly/ helpful staff, hotel less than ten minutes from Blue mosque and main area. Will recommend to stay there and re-use.

Worst stay in Turkey

We were booked into the tiniest room at Sultan's hotel. So small that we couldn't bring our luggage into our room! Bed was pushed up against wall and there was maybe a foot on the other side of the bed to the wall and then a foot to door of bathroom. Besides the tiny room, we were surrounded by a group traveling together who decided they wanted to party in the hotel. I went down to the reception twice to ask the front desk to get other guest to quiet down ( I went down at 10:30pm and then again at midnight). The first time I went down the front desk staff called the other room right next to us to quiet down, but this call did nothing as they continued to be very loud. When I went down again at midnight, the front desk staff basically told me there was nothing he could do. I mean, what?! There is nothing you can do about guests partying, smoking, running around your hotel at midnight?! I ended up going to room myself and telling them they had to stop. Also keep in mind, this hotel has paper thin walls. When the noisy guests next to us used the shower, I could hear everything! It was basically like they were in the same room. To top it off when we left early in the morning we were paying in Euro and the staff didn't have change. He was getting mad at us because we didn't want to pay with a credit card as we had specifically asked if we could pay in Euro as that is what the hotels.com says we should pay in.

If you're willing to climb a mountain every day...

This hotel is very new, and therefore clean and nice, but it is in a terrible location. It looks very close to the historical sites on a map, but you literally have to walk up a very large hill, through a really rundown neighborhood to get there each time. The surroundings are dilapidated. Also, the economy room is literally a closet. You can only access the double bed (which is two twins pushed together) from one side. We immediately had them change our room and paid an up charge because we literally couldn't fit our bags.
