Hotel close to major historical placesPosted Apr 4, 2014
The hotel, it's location and the staff were excellent. The downside is the wifi, absolutely awful and no sound proofing as you can actually hear the people in the next room talking and late at night. The opening and closing of the door rooms would send our door shaking as if it were being opened. But if you don't mind the above then it is a great place to stay ;)

很好的酒店Posted Apr 4, 2014

Great location, helpful staffPosted Apr 3, 2014
Pros: Location, staff
It's a great location right in the old city and walking distance to the Blue Mosque etc. The building is really beautiful and the rooms very comfortable with a modern bathroom. Only downside is the breakfast which isn't very good. (Bad coffee, cold eggs but lots of salad type ingredients). Staff were very helpful and all the recommendations for restaurants were great.

Great hotel for newbies to Istanbul!Posted Mar 28, 2014
Pros: Please see above.
Cons: Not much really. Maybe better lit hallway, but it's motion sensored which saves energy.
Location: Please see above.
The hotel is a lovely place, very nice room, very clean and well kept, comfortable with the NICEST staff who will help you in any way they can. This was the kind of place i needed after my 10 hours of flight and 6 hours layover in Houston. The breakfast is delicious and traditional to Turkey-- any country that has olives on the breakfast menu wins in my book. Oh, and SO close to the Aya Sofia, palace, Blue Mosque, etc. Great area too, it is safe and lovely.

Pros: See comments above.
Location: Blue Mosque. Sofya . Galata Tower. The Ottoman palace.
I forgot something and the staff was extremely helpful in solving my problem within an amazingly short time. The location is fabulous too as it's very close to the major tourist attraction sites and it is very quiet at night as well. I would definitely use this again and recommend this to those who want a nice hotel with good services and great location. The breakfast buffet had a variety of food as well.

The place is perfectly located ... All main attractions are 5 minutes walk! and the neighborhood is beautiful. The staff is really friendly, helpful and respectful. The hotel is clean and very well kept and the breakfast is also good. I will come back every time.

fantastic location! lovely boutique hotel!Posted Feb 22, 2014
Pros: STAFF, location, cleanliness, quiet street
Cons: curtains! smell of breakfast! room sizes?!
Location: fab! right near blue mosque etc
comfy bed and bedding, rooms are small but very clean, staff helpful...cons - we could smell the breakfast being cooked at 7 am! the smell was coming in our room also the rooms are not dark enough - a lot of natural light comes in after sunrise...call to prayer - I only heard once! fab location...its a boutique hotel..very good 3 star...i would stay again but one must realise rooms are not masive! breakfast plentiful but nothing amazing...we were in the largest room and it was quiet...they arranged a lovely cake for my sons birthday

Good location, rest just okPosted Feb 19, 2014
Location: Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace all a short walk away.
There was nothing really wrong with the Sultan's Royal Hotel, but it was not stellar, either. Staff were polite. Breakfast was fair, but not exceptional. The location, just around the corner from the Hippodrome, was quite good. Would likely not stay here again. If breakfast were better, I might. Many items just not palatable for a western diet. Olives and cabbage salad, for breakfast? I tried them, but would have been happier with cheese, fruit, and better bread selections.
