Nice, comfortable, clean hotel in ideal location.Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Location, restaurents on doorstep, close to major attractions, clean, with friendly staff.
Cons: Housekeeping / mini-bar service (hit or a miss) and install air conditioning in the newly opened bar / smoking area at rear of hotel.
Location: Location is ideal, restaurents, tour operators, cash machines, small supermarket, tram, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar all local.
We stayed at the Sura for 9 nights, it was an enjoyable experience, ideal location close to Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque, with local tram nearby and quality restaurents on the doorstep. Istanbul is generally quite a hilly area, the hotel is located not too far up the main drag, but may still cause problems with those that are unable to walk far. The hotel staff were very friendly and obliging making our stay a pleasure. Housekeeping / mini-bar service was a little dissapponting, having to ask for cups / spoons on 3 occassions, after a long days trip a nice coffee in the room is always a pleasure, but not having to go back down to reception and ask for cups. The Wi-Fi was not totally reliable, although we did manage to sign in eventually, but you would expect this service to be better and more efficient in this day. Our room was quite small (double deluxe) situated on the 4th floor, and was quite claustraphobic with the protruding roof profile causing clearance problems so you had to be very careful not to bump your head (we did). You can organise trips / tours directly from the hotel, would advise to look around first though as some did not justify the cost for what was provided, although the hotel does not take payment, only organise, their are plenty of tour operators nearby so a quick look around and cost comparison would be recommended. The new bar / smoking area inddor at the back was ideal, however could do with air conditioning. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Zentraler geht's nicht!Posted Jun 28, 2015

Excellent locationPosted Jun 26, 2015
Pros: the location
Cons: fix up the patchy walls and furnishings in the room, ie blinds not fitted properly / paint peeling - AND updating the whether forecast daily...
Location: Hotel is across from the blue mosque (and others) ,centrally located. easy to get to, trams just down the road 1min walk, restaurants out the front
Hotel is across from the blue mosque ( and others) ,centrally located. easy to get to, trams just down the road 1min walk, restaurants out the front of the hotel. Grand Bazaar down the road, we walked.. Breakfast is plentiful, staff a little lazy though. Would definitely stay here again - you cant beat the location

Pros: Location with friendly staff who tried hard.
Cons: Wi-fi , constantly having to log in.
Location: In the heart of Sultanahmet - 5 minutes walk to must see sights. Abundance of good restaurants at doorstep . 2 minutes to tram stop.
This is a very well located hotel , family of 5 where able to catch metro and tram from airport with less than 100 metre walk to hotel, and easy to find in the labyrinth that is Istanbul. Rooms were well seized , clean with windows that can be opened. We were able to use pool of adjoining Sura hotel , though this was a something we initially really wanted in a hotel only used once and very briefly. Housekeeping and breakfast menu a bit haphazard but added to the charm and did not deter from our stay.Very touristy area but is very much alive and has a great buzz , we were there through Ramadan and locals were out in full force in the late afternoon. Would definetely stay in this area above all others explored again and we would choose to stay at Sura Design.

Pros: Pent og rent. Sentralt

Perfect luxury hotel in IstanbulPosted Jun 16, 2015
We had an amazing stay at Sura. It is located within 5 minutes walking distance of all of the main sites to see, has beautiful rooms, offers great personal service and the facilities are incredible - the hotel has its own pool, large Turkish bath, steam room, salt room and sauna. It's really a 5 star experience which left me wondering how it all came in so cheap! Unbelievable. My only criticism would be the breakfast spread which was adequate but not mind-blowing. But really this was a small issue when you consider everything else. Highly recommended.
