Perfect hotel very close to all there is to see inPosted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: We had a handicapped adapted room meaning no shower door, but that doesn't mean all rooms are the same, but even though, the bathroom was luxurious
Brand new hotel, very clean ,very good beds, absolutely not noisy,we had a room to the interior yard,. Breakfast was very good!. 2 minutes walking distance to aya Sophia and Blue Mosquee We could even go for a rest after lunch and go back to visit later. Very good hotel for the price

Excellent location, warm welcome but too compactPosted Sep 13, 2013
Hotel conveniently located close to major tourist attactions but on a narrow and quiet street. Recently refurbished to a modern style. Staff very friendly and speak good English. Too compact for a 5-star hotel but this is to be expected in this crowded area of Istanbul. Overall we had nice stay. Note that hotel is an area of one-way traffic and is awkward to get to by taxi, particularly that none of the taxi drivers we used knew the hotel or the street. Suggest you give the hotel telephone to the driver so they can point the way to him.

gr8 hotel for the pricePosted Sep 8, 2013
Pros: breakfast, location, gym, staff, wifi and hotel restaurant
Cons: the number of English stations offered via satellite
Location: all the great things to do are within walking distance or by tram
this was EASILY a GREAT hotel for the price. took me weeks to find the perfect hotel for our stay in Old City Istanbul. I wanted a hotel close to everything we were gonna visit..landmarks, mosque's, shopping, historical landmarks, etc...either via walking or tram...this was perfect. I wanted a hotel with a GREAT morning buffet breakfast that was included in the price. heck this not only covered my breakfast needs but also my snack and lunch needs as they had lots of lunch meats and fruits to go w our breakfast eggs and cereal. the free WIFI was strong and never an issue connecting!!! AND the staff....some of the nicest people on any of my travel trips. BUT the BEST thing about this hotel which I had a difficult time finding at any other hotel during my 2 week search of hotels in the same price range was a GREAT GYM!!!! this gym didn't have that one universal machine and a treadmill that every hotel that advertises "free gym included"...no this gym had free WEIGHTS and a couple of great universal machines that allowed me to work off some of that baklava that I found at every corner of my neighborhood while staying at the Sura!! the ONLY negative thing I can say about this hotel is that out of the 200+ satellite tv channels their were available, only 8 or 9 that were in English...fortunately one of them was Bloomberg News so I could get the news updates..:):). I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel...GREAT job Sura in making me trip to Istanbal F-A-N-T-A-S-T-C!!!!!!!!!!

Does what it says on the tin...Posted Sep 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Really friendly and helpful staff. High quality food at breakfast. Room was a little on the small side but really well furnished (a bit blingy for my taste, but I suspect this is the norm in Turkey). Spacious clean modern bathroom/shower. I had a view overlooking a really pleasant little hidden garden. A stone's throw from the main mosques in Sultanhamet up a quiet side-street so you couldn't really better the location (unless you are after a sea view). Only slight negatives - wireless signal strength not great and non-existent in some parts of the hotel. Air-con won't go below 20C - it was really hot and very humid whilst I was in Istanbul and could have done with it a bit cooler in my room!

Fun rooms but totally disorganized management that wasn't very friendly either.

Perfect for touristPosted Aug 19, 2013
Pros: Amazing design ... Kindness of staff ... Location.
Cons: Cleaness. Staff more professional.
Location: Top 5 attractions of Istanbul such as Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Archeological Museum, Topkapi Palace are just walking distance.
Perfect location to see the top things of Istanbul. For businessmen who need proper internet connection ... Just walk away ... Very nice design really great ... Restaurant has good food just breakfast is average or let say not at the level of the hotel. If you are used to 5* hotels you will find issues with cleaness sometimes. Same about hotel staff. They are very kind but but not professional enough for the level of the hotel. English is an issue with some of them especially with your maid that you won't be able to communicate with if you dont speak turkish ! Overall it is a perfect place to stay ... The owner I think should just change the management and staff as soon as possible in order to keep his property in good conditions and running well ... It is a new hotel opened only 2 years ago but looks older and will go down fast if proper management does not take over quiickly. Go there .. You will enjoy !

Nice Hotel, Awesome StaffPosted Aug 13, 2013
After finding the hotel, which is super close to the main sites, the hotel was awesome and nice. Also, the best air conditioner, super staff, would definitely stay here again.

At least it has great location!!!Posted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!!!! Right in the heart of the historical district and a minute walk to the tram station.
Cons: The things mentioned in my experiences.
The main reason I chose this hotel was because of its location in the heart of the historical district in Istanbul and that the rooms looked nice on the internet. When I got to the hotel, the room looked as nice as it did on the internet but there was literally no drawers with which to place my clothes, just a one piece combination mini-bar, open closet sort of contraption. I pretty much had to live out of my suitcase the whole trip. The really big issue was that the internet went out in the hotel for half of my stay. When I asked what happened and they said that it was an outage in the whole area. There was an internet cafe around the corner from the hotel that I went to and they were operating as normal. When I returned to hotel and told them that the cafe had internet, they then changed their story and said there was a problem with their server. Why lie to begin with? When I asked when it would be working again, they said they "hoped" within the next couple of days. Really not a satisfactory answer. While I never had any problems with the staff and received an adequate level of service, as I was checking out I saw one of the clerks act rather dismissively towards a woman and her children who were checking in. Check in was at 2 p.m. and the clerk was dismissive when asked when their room would be ready. The breakfast buffet was "adequate". All I can really say about it. I would not necessarily come back to this hotel unless I really had no other options.
