Deceptive advertising.Posted Nov 11, 2013
Location: Location was great!
The staff tried to assign me into a microscopic room with no windows even though I had specifically booked a 'Deluxe room with a Bosphorous view'. After a lot of arguments I got a deluxe room but with two twin size beds instead of the king size bed I had listed in my booking. They were obviously overbooked and on persisting I got a room with a King bed on the 2nd and 3rd nights. Also as others have pointed out, the rooms lack a microwave or coffee maker as mentioned in the ads. All rooms do not have the balcony (my room with the twin beds had an alcove but the room with the king had absolutely nothing). I heard other customers also quarreling with the front desk about their wrongly assigned rooms and so guess it is a routine practice. Definitely do not recommend it..

Good hotel for short trip.Posted Nov 10, 2013
The location is very nice. And if you are lucky you can get Bosphorus view. It depends on who is receptionist on duty. The hotel has recently been redecorated. The normal size rooms were divided. So now you can enjoy tiny luxury room. About 12 sq.m. This thing is really disappointed me. Cleaning is not bad. The staffs are very polite and helpful.

Read the reviews before bookingPosted Sep 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Unfortunately I was very disappointed with my stay. To mention just a few items: no working lift; the view paid for did not exist; no kettle in room (staff recommended I went out and bought one; the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi described as "on site" were in fact in another hotel and could only be used if a very large fee was paid. The location is very central but sleep is virtually impossible due to the noise from outside. Anyway.. apart from that Istanbul was great. And hotels dot com were very professional in addressing my concerns.

Misleading PublicityPosted Sep 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
It was very misleading to be told in the hotel publicity that we were paying for a 40 square metre room with a view of the Bosphorous. When we arrived at the hotel we were informed that there was no such room;we could either have a tiny room with a tiny tiny view of the Bosphorous or the 40 sq metre room without the view.

Great location, poor customer servicePosted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: The rooms are pretty nicely decorated, clean and though a bit leaky the shower/bathroom was finished to a very high standard.
Cons: Customer service here is very poor and desperately needs to be improved.
Location: 5 min walk from Taksim square and next to the main shopping/bar district. A short tram to Kabatas connects you to public transport for the Old Town.
We spent four days at the Taksim Star and whilst things started out OK, it looks like we've had a similarly disappointing experience to other reviewers here. On arrival, we were told that the Standard Twin Room we had booked was unavailable so we were moved into a Deluxe Room which was much bigger - result! We were also told that our reservation included breakfast, even though this had not been on the original booking (we asked at least twice to confirm as we knew we hadn't booked it). After two days we ventured downstairs to try the hotel breakfast which was essentially olives and cheese. Whilst in the dining room a staff member checked our room number (only us - nobody else was checked) and said that we would have to pay 45 EUR for our 'meal'! When we told her that this was included in the room booking she conveniently couldn't speak english anymore. We queried this at reception and after a fashion they removed one of the 'breakfasts' from our bill, but then went on to inform us that we would need to change rooms at 1pm that day as our Deluxe room was no longer available. After standing our ground and arguing that we should not be expected to re-pack our belongings and switch rooms on a 4-day holiday (its their poor planning if they can't manage reservations) suddenly our room became available again - so because we refused to pay for a shoddy breakfast, that we were told was included, we were being punished by switching our rooms. A pretty sour end to our trip!

Really nice hotelPosted Jul 19, 2013
Pros: As I was in a business trip I was glad that the WiFi was working very good. Reception were very friendly and room service was very helpful.
Cons: I think it will be great to have some facilities as gym or a swimming pool. I didn,t ask if there was or no but I don,t think there is.
Location: Excellent location. Very near to Taksim square, Istiklal street and near by all means of transportation as metro and bus stations.
I was in Istanbul for a business trip. Istanbul is a very nice country. Hotel was very nice.

Great Location, Excellent ServicePosted Jul 14, 2013
Pros: Staff/service. Location. Upscale decor.
Cons: Breakfasts were overpriced. Eat somewhere else—there are many choices in this area.
Outstanding Taksim location. Staff went the extra mile and more for us. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, but VERY small. Showers, however, are especially spacious. Internet service was decent.
