“Good Hotel and close to sites”
Good value for money and easy to get to the sites.
“Great Value and Location!!”
Sure, you can hear the call to prayer in the wee small hours of the morning as if they were right outside your window but the somewhat residential neighborhood 5 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque was right where we wanted to be. We compared here with our guidebook's recommendations and Tash Konak is where we ended up staying 2 nights each stay on each of three trips back into Istanbul. Wonderful staff, clean rooms, a nice garden to hang out in and a good breakfast with water views. WIth any luck, I will get to go back and stay longer!!
“Amazing Hotel!!!”
This Hotel offers all that is needed for a safe relaxing vacation. The Hotel Staff was very helpful when I encountered a slight crisis with an ATM machine. They are warm, friendly, and make you feel at home. Our room was beautiful with a terrace and overlooked the garden I will always look back on this trip and remember the excellent staff!!!
“Can't wait to go back”
This is a small hotel with a rooftop terrace breakfast buffet. The staff was very, very nice. Our room was small but comfortable, and had a small terrace. This hotel within a few minutes walking, you at the Blue Mosque. There are so many small hotels ON the path, and small stores selling carpets and other hand made beautiful goods. It was a nice feeling being tucked into the locals a little. You hear the prayer chanting during day (and 5am!) The people are extremely nice. It felt very safe.Lovely view of Marmara sea from terrace.
“Great hotel”
It was exactly what I needed. Great breakfast in the roof, Clean, good costumer service, great location and a nice bathroom. The only thing that could bother some people would be the mosque prays... I did not hear them but my girlfriends said that every morning at 0600 you will hear the islamic prays with speakers coming from a mosque.
“Friendly boutique hotel!”
First impression - the location: curly and narrow streets in Sultanahmet district will surprise you either! My windows were faced to the mosque (the local mosque, not the famous Blue Mosque) and I enjoyed the view and local spirit with sound of muezzin voice! The special thanx should be addressed to the staff: English-spoken, friendly and helpful! They foreseen my wishes to be supplied by breakfast - I was need to leave hotel too early to get the airport. Hotel staff organized taxi transfer for the fair price (less then regular offer). The Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet camii) just 5 minutes walk. Very old and cozy hamam is also nearby - on the way toward The Blue Mosque. Will stay next time, when trip through or to Istanbul would be planned!
“Charming, like family”
We stayed two weeks at the hotel, during which time we became familiar with all of the staff and they treated us like valued customers. The breakfast is fantastic, often lasting us until an early dinner. The room was rather small, but cleaned every day, and the large bathroom was immaculate. The sea view from the terrace restaurant was fantastic, so close to the water. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a perfectly central location, though on a quiet street and with the feel of living in a real Istanbullu neighborhood. The muezzin at the mosque next door became our early morning alarm clock.
“hospitable and reliable!!”
The people at this hotel were some of the nicest most welcoming hotel staff I have ever encountered. They would help you plan various activities throughout your stay, make the bookings, and arrange for you to be picked up and dropped off at no extra cost. They even made arrangements to have us driven to the shopping area one day!! The room was always kept clean, and breakfast was always plentiful and filling. Overall, this hotel was a great find especially for the price.
“The Tash Konak is clearly worth more stars than two”
Our hotel, the Tash Konak, was a lucky choice. We had picked it from an Expedia site because of the inexpensive rates and the apparent good location. Right on in both respects, I do not think we could have done better. Actually, I expect it to soon be more expensive, as the Tash Konak is clearly worth more stars than two, and it will not be under appreciated for long. An old traditional building, the entry is well marked. The lobby is large and welcoming, furnished with Turkish antiques, and a desk with computer services is at one end. We checked in without incident. They had received our Expedia reservation request and were ready for us. Off we went to our room. It was very small but extremely clean and well lit. The bathroom was newly tiled, with lots of towels. The TV received 32 channels, one of them in English. We explored a bit. The hotel had taken over several houses, and the resulting corridors and stairways wound around, emerging in unexpected places. After five days I am sure we had not seen all of the place. Truly in a great spot, the Tash Konak is right beside the Blue Mosque, the Arasta Bazaar, the Hippodrome, and the Hagia Sophia. The breakfast room on the roof has the most gorgeous view. The Bosphorus Sea full of ships, speedy ferries, bright blue , white clouds, seagulls soaring, a wonderful sight. We ate a familiar breakfast, after Egypt, the usual olives, cheeses, rolls, and yogurt.
