The only thing we liked about the hotel was its excellent location. In general it is not a bad hotel but for what we were paying for the room, we expected much more! The rooms are too small and not very fresh! The staff were not very friendly let alone helpful!

The hotel had a perfect location but it needs renovation. Room was on the small side for a 5* hotel. The staff was frienly and the breakfast menu was excellent.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It is very clean and comfortable. Also it has got a spectacular view if Istanbul.

Terrible rooms

I would not recommend this hotel. Rooms are very small . Bathroom is dirty and very old fashion. Staff specially in the reception are helpless. Noise is coming from everywhere. No variety in Food besides it is expensive. The room price is too high in comparison with other hotels in Istanbul . The only good thing in the hotel is location

Location is fantastic .. Room is terrible specially the bathroom is very old fashion . Room size is very small for three persons bearing in mind we paid €275 euros for the room per night.

Worst hotel experience in my life....

Location: Good location. But don't let that fool you...
I am an expedia elite plus member, I have been to quite few hotels all over the world, but this hotel was the worst. I have checked in my room around 12pm and as I was trying to get a nap, I heard a drilling noise from the upper floor. Then the noises got louder chainsaws, hammering etc. I called the desk, I was told there is a renovation/restoration at the hotel, I asked them to stop it. I was told by the quest relation manager and other staff that they have no power to stop the construction. The construction continued all thru 5 pm right on top of me...other thing that was really disappointing was, eventhough on Expedia web site it said free breakfast buffet for elite plus members, I was told that that is a mistake done by expedia thus they didn't honor the offer. I need to add I have received a complimentary Wine and fruit from quest relations manager for the inconvenience !!!!

Perfect location

Loved my stay at the marmara! The staff were nice & friendly and the room was clean & neat, spacious and my room had a beautiful view. The location is perfect as it is only 2 min walking distance away from the İstiklal street, I would totally recommend this hotel.

Pros: The location, the decor, the staff were all incredible.

Location: central to shopping, a great central location to tours, Taksim square are alive 24 hours a day... a great place to people watch
I had never been to Istanbul but I will return again and again. The Marmara is a beautiful hotel in a very central location. The staff was incredible. I could not have asked for better. I highly recommend the staff and hotel.
