Very pleasant small hotel.Posted May 18, 2013
Pros: Quiet room and good choice of breakfast
Cons: Compact rooms
Location: Easy walking to main attractions or 2 tram stops
Everything worked and did what it was supposed to. Things were clean and well maintained. Location was very central. Breakfast was varied and enjoyable. My room was quiet at night. The bed was comfortable and I slept well every night. I was unable to extend my stay for two extra nights due to the hotel being full but that was only testament to the place being quite popular. I suppose you could find very minor faults if you were sniffy but I stayed 4 nights and was very happy.

Fantastic - Excellent Value for Money!!!Posted Mar 16, 2013
Pros: The friendliness of the staff
Cons: The lights weren't on during the day and no main light in the hotel room only lamps in the bedroom area.
Location: Easy location, quiet side street.
This hotel was excellent in service from beginning to the end of our stay. The staff were welcoming and if we wasn't sure of how to get around the city they always provided us with excellent directions. Breakfast was delightful with a some changes daily to add variety. Our room was clean, towels and linen changed everyday. There was a spa area that we didn't use but looked lovely for some relaxation. The restaurant was open in the evenings for dinner even though there wasn't a lot of choice the price bracket was the same as the local restaurants. Everything touristy was in walking range. The area was open to bargaining in shops which was great they were also as cheap as the grand bazaar than the local high street.

"A couple's experience"Posted Dec 2, 2012
Pros: Our view and breakfast. We were comfortable,
Cons: The carpet in our room.
Location: A bit of a walk,if you are not an active person, but we enjoyed it thoroughly as our daily exercise, and lots of beautiful scenery too.
We loved the location of the hotel,if you don't mind a bit of a scenic walk, since my fiancee and i both love being active, especially after such a hearty breakfast. We had a great view and a bit more space than the other rooms, although we had to compromise on two single beds being pushed together instead of a double bed, which proved a bit problematic in the end when you are a couple. The breakfast was full and plenty to choose from with the most devine olives and yoghurt. The client services were great, and luckily they could speak fair english. Our rooms were also cleaned everyday with fresh towels and bedding. Our only REAL complaint, was that the carpet in our room was filthy, and we had to ask them twice to clean it,which they did.

Give this one a miss for the price!Posted Jul 23, 2012
Having paid London prices for this hotel, I had high expectations. The reality was very disappointing. Our room, with an extra bed, was so small, there was hardly any room to walk around the 3 beds pushed together, the decor is in need of updating and the breakfast was average. Do not use the hotel Turkish bath as it is much more expensive that other local ones. The only redeeming feature was that it is fairly centrally located for site seeing.

Good value for a nice hotelPosted Jul 3, 2012
Pros: Location, breakfast area
Close to most tourist attractions and restaurants, good access to tramways. The hotel was clean (one issue was corrected right away), the breakfast area was pleasant and the food was good. Our suite had a brand-new looking bathroom, while its furniture was comfortable but had a slightly worn out aspect. Overall it was good. The staff was courteous and helpful in giving directions / advice. The hotel has also a nice looking spa area (but we did not have time to use it). The hotel is close to the mosques and as such one can hear the prayers broadcast over the loudspeakers at various times during the day and night hours. Would have no problem staying there again.

Tilia Hotel - Try to Avoid it!Posted Feb 28, 2012 on Hotels.com
Not even close to 4 stars. Rooms - size of suitcase. Breakfast - worst which I had in my 20+ stays in Istanbul.

Not bad spot near Grand Bazaar. Near university and Sulieyman Mosque. Good cold breakfast. On side street with limited traffic
