“Truly Fantastic!”
The staff of the Tria Hotel are so incredibly nice, friendly, and helpful. Check-in and check-out were easy. The hotel entrance is on a little back street, but it allows for it to be a little quieter. One morning when I was there, as I was walking out the door one of the staff asked if I had heat in my room because apparently there was an issue with some other guests. I've never stayed in a hotel where they asked if there was a problem like that before. The hotel is also conveniently located 2 or 3 blocks from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Topkapi Palace. Other attractions are not very far away on foot. Breakfast was European style, but still had hot items to choose from.
“Well appointed, good food”
Hotel is very clean, tasteful and in very quiet area (difficult to find). Rooms are quite small but normal for Istanbul. Restaurant very good with great friendly service. Only drawback is the walls are quite thin so if you have noisy neighbors or are on lower floor near reception, you'll hear conversations and phone ringing a lot.
“Great hotel is an excellent location”
Super friendly staff and easy walking distance to Blue Mosque, Spice Market, and shopping.
“Four stars? Not a chance.”
Positioned a block below the main restaurant strip below Hagia Sofia and Topkapi Palace, the location of the Tria Hotel is very convenient. The rooftop terrace has a super view and the food is good and well priced. Breakfast is simple but more than adequate - if a little uninspired. Wi-Fi worked reasonably well too in public areas and in my room. The room though was tiny. About a foot between the bed and the two side walls, and the space between the base of the bed and the tiny desk and closet was not much bigger. I do press-ups and sit-ups daily and the only place I could do these was half-way into the bathroom. Ridiculous. The view from my room was of a messy courtyard and some nightclub or restaurant overlooked this courtyard too, so late nights were sometimes very noisy. The biggest issue though was that the lock on my suitcase was broken on my first day, and my toiletries had clearly been "explored" in the bathroom on the same day. I complained about this to the front desk and absolutely nothing was done about it. I bought another lock for my suitcase but was not at all comfortable leaving anything accessible in the room. Clean, well located, but overpriced and incorrectly rated as four stars.
“Great value -- superb location!”
The hotel is perfectly located: just steps away from everything you would want to see. The rooms are small but fine. If you can, try to get something on a high floor with a view. Definitely a good value for the price.
“great stay in istanbul”
i highly recommend this hotel, especially for the price. the staff is very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is plentiful and extensive (not just carbs), the location is great, and it was pretty quiet, especially in the back of the hotel. i stayed again on my return through istanbul and they kindly upgraded my room. they also have free internet in the room, which is always great for us business travelers. overall, an excellent stay.
