"Nice hotel close to Blue Mosque"
This little hotel is very well maintained, spotless clean, with amazingly helpful staff. They advised us about everything and booked us transportation and tours. The room was nice (maybe a little smaller than we might need for three persons, but we didn’t spend too much time in), with own air conditioning unit, with a nice bath (shower). The only downsize was that we couldn’t get the wifi in the room. We could access the internet only in the lobby. The breakfast buffet was well garnished and served on the roof terrace. The view was amazing there, day or night.

"Beautiful and serene in the heart of Sultanahmet"
Had two luxurious nights here. The hotel is the old prison (Remember Midnight Express??) but is beautifully converted to possible the finest hotel in Istanbul, certainly with oodles more character than the Kempinsky. Food is outstanding and the breakfast buffet sumptuous. Hotel staff helpful and accommodating. Will stay here again!

"Great place to stay!"
What a great place to stay! This is the second time we stayed in this hotel and we had another wonderful experience. The room was perfect- very clean and well furnished. The service was excellent and personalized. The hotel’s staff was always friendly, helpful, and courteous. Special thanks to Sevgi, Fatma, Ilhan, and Can, they made us feel like the hotel was our second home. They had answers to all of our questions and suggested other sites that we should visit in Istanbul. Best regards to the hotel manager - Özhan Özlü - The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions in the Sultanahmet district. The staff even explained how to use public transportation thus saving us from taking a taxi to other parts of the city…the public transportation was efficient and easy to use. The breakfast buffet had a large selection and the food was delicious. I can't remember the chef’s name, but we ate most of our evening meals at the hotel and the food and service were excellent. There was free internet service and a well equipped fitness center which we used daily. We had a wonderful experience visiting Istanbul and staying in the Acropol Suites Spa & Hotel. I would say that our stay was almost magical. We are planning to return to Istanbul next year and we will definitely stay in this hotel again.

"Luxury hotel."
We felt very at home here with a marvellous view of the Bosphorous. You do have to walk for 15 mins. down to the coast road to pick up a tram to get into town,so there are not many shops to pick up essential supplies on the way home.

"AMAZING!"
Well, there isn't much to say other than this hotel was perfect in every way. We stayed for 8 nights in October 2014 and this hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Not only was it located in a great place near Istiklal Street for shopping & dining, but it is in close proximity to old Istanbul where the majority of the sights are. The hotel was pushed over the top by it's recent renovation and extremely friendly/knowledgeable staff. All in all, the Pera Palace was a perfect place to call "home" at the end of long day or touring around Istanbul.

"Fantastic Experience"
This hotel is smack dab in the middle of Sultanahmet, close to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Haigha Sofia, etc. We had a bedroom and small living room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet. We could walk everywhere but we were also close to the tram line if we didn't feel like walking. Lots of restaurants were nearby including many with roof terraces that overlooked the Blue Mosque and Haigha Sofia at night when they were lit up. The location is also closer to the airport than areas such as Taxsim and Galata Saray, an important consideration given Istanbul's heavy traffic.

    Istanbul Hotel Guide

    A tale of two continents

Istanbul is the only metropolis in the world that lies on two continents. With one foot in Europe and the other in Asia, it's no wonder the city is so cosmopolitan and culturally diverse. As the former capital of the Roman, Byzantine, Latin, and Ottoman Empires, Istanbul has an expansive history that spans many centuries. Throughout its different incarnations, Istanbul has been called both Byzantium and Constantinople. Whichever name you know it by, Istanbul is simply incredible and worth booking flights to Istanbul to discover Turkish hospitality first hand.

You will be well cared for – whether you stay at Istanbul resorts, look to rekindle at romantic hotels in Istanbul, or just want to stay at the best hotels in Istanbul, you will find cheap hotel deals in Istanbul that will have you coming back again and again to discover this city’s many sides.

While many of the most visited sightseeing attractions reside on the European side of Istanbul, including the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, and Topkapi Palace, the more residential Asian (or Anatolian) side also has its own unique charms. Be sure to explore the beauty of both sides offering a plethora of things to do in Istanbul to make your trip complete and visit the outskirts via renting a car in Istanbul to get a well-balanced picture of this part of Turkey.

From the Blue Mosque to the Grand Bazaar

One of Istanbul's nicknames is the 'the city on seven hills.' Like Rome, the Istanbul of antiquity was built on seven hills, each with religious monuments, in both the Byzantine and Ottoman periods.

Today you will still find many stunning sights on these hills. Topkapi Palace was the former royal residence of the Ottoman sultans. Set by the sea and overlooking the Golden Horn, today's Topkapi Palace is open to the public as a museum, with four primary courtyards and a wealth of treasures. Wander through leafy gardens and airy libraries, an imperial harem, and impressive gilded pavilions.

Head for another hill and the Grand Bazaar awaits you. One of the largest covered markets in the world, featuring more than 6,000 stalls, the Grand Bazaar is a mecca for shoppers. Jewelry, spices, carpets, and pottery combine to create a seemingly endless range of tempting items. Test your bargaining skills or just enjoy a stroll around the structure itself, which seems almost like a palace.

Side by side are two other must-see Istanbul sights. The beautiful mosaics and massive dome of the 1400-year old Hagia Sofia leave visitors mesmerized. Equally extravagant is the working Blue Mosque whose six slender minarets are one of the most famous components of Istanbul's skyline.

    Illuminated Istanbul

Istanbul is one of the oldest cities in the world and with such a long and rich legacy it would be easy to tour only the city's historical wonders. However, present-day Istanbul is one of the most vibrant, sophisticated, and cosmopolitan places on earth and no visit would be complete without experiencing what the modern city has to offer. Book your stay at hotels in Istanbul, Turkey to experience the city’s many facets. An evening out could include cuisine from all corners of the world (though be sure to try the sumptuous mezzes and kebabs), cocktails at an elegant bar on the Bosphorus, and clubbing until dawn. Istanbul at night is a beautiful sight. Retire to one of the many Istanbul hotels after a full day – and maybe even a very late night – out to see more sight the next day.

Take some time for leisure, too, like a traditional Turkish bath or a cruise from Istanbul down the Bosphorus Strait. One visit to Istanbul could never suffice and how could it? There are two continents to explore! So slow down and sip some fragrant mint tea, while you plan your next Istanbul vacation. Just rest assured that you are always welcome at hotels in Istanbul.
