Pros: Location to event.
Cons: Front desk needs to get on the ball.
I prepaid my stay through Expedia. Upon check-in, I was asked for a credit card for "incidentals", although the receptionist clearly saw that I had prepaid through Expedia. In haste checking out in the morning at the front desk, I did not double check my hotel invoice. The moring front desk receptionist had charged me again for the room! I am now having difficulty pursuing a credit directly from the hotel for a complete oversight on their part. I always instruct my children to double check to make sure their french fries are in the bag with their happy meal, and here I am not following my own advice!

Terrible Hotel

Cons: Invest in the physical plant and fix the smell in the lobby.
The hotel was old, smelly and even had cigarette burns on the chair though it's no-smoking. The parking lot was covered in gravel from the quarry next door and it's right on top of the freeway. The staff was at least nice.

Pros: Late check-in, pleasant staff,
Cons: no elevator to 2nd floor, room had a bunch of discarded key cards in the corner (obviously not cleaned regularly)
Location: Right off the interstate, at the end of the off ramp, and at the start of the on-ramp. drive-sleep-go
Decent place, good location for long distance driving (right off the interstate). Room could have been cleaner, staff at hotel were nice

Poor experience in Cortland

Pros: Very little.
Cons: Working WiFi.
Very disappointing hotel. We were given a room on 2nd floor and there is no elevator in bldg. Also WiFi never worked during entire stay. Front desk did not answer phone. Limited breakfast options. Smelled like smoke in most areas of hotel including our non smoking room. Toilet leaked.

Pros: Pillows, coffee, quiet.
Cons: The morning desk clerk, the location, and install an elevator.
Location: Near Route 81 and restaurants, but tucked away from the road with no visible sign.
The check-in staff was pleasant and helpful, but the morning staff .... not too bright. The location was tucked behind other buildings and was hard to find. The lobby area was pleasant and the room was comfortable. I wasn't pleased that I was on the second floor and there was no elevator. Don't hotels realize that their guests have luggage to carry? I'm a senior citizen and have enough trouble with stairs when I'm not carrying a suitcase! While I was standing at the front desk, I requested a morning wake-up call, since I had an early morning appointment. I watched as the desk clerk wrote it on a notebook. I never got the wake-up call. When I asked the morning desk clerk, she "checked" the notebook and said that there was NO request for a call to my room. I SAW the evening clerk write it down, so somebody is incompetent. It was the only request I made. I slept well... good pillows, good coffee, quiet.
