Trip to cornell
Posted Jan 20, 2013
Pros: Close to Cornell about 3 miles.
Cons: Room size. Shower stall. Bedding could be newer.
Location: Cornell U
I went up to visit my son at Cornell U. The majority fo hotels were sold out so I was forced to reserve here. Its not much to speak of. A Motel. You drive up to the room and there is n central hall or meeting area. The room was SMALL. Not much room to move around in. The bed TV and small table took up most of the room. There would not have been room for an additional bed if I needed it. The queen size bed was adequate, but the blankets looked worn. My main compliant was the bathroom. it was so tiny I could barely move around in it. It was a triangular shower stall and very tiny. The other complaint was I reserved for 2 nights but only needed one. They refused to refund the money saying it was a 2 night minimum.

Never Again, I'd rather sleep in my car!

Pros: Location
Cons: The room and everything in it.
Location: Close to Ithaca and Cornell colleges.
Where to begin.....Cancellation policy states 3 days or less $8.50 charge, I tried to cancel the morning of check in and was told I'd be charged $100.00. We were visiting Ithaca College open house and my child wasn't feeling well. We decided to go anyway. The room was outdated, smelled of must and mold, the sheets had holes, the towels were worn and stained. I had to walk side wise between the sink and shower to reach the toilet. The shower, toilet and sink were too small. I'm only 5'3" and I didn't have enough room to bend over to pick up a wash cloth in the shower. The heating unit was load and hard to get a comfortable temperature. The walls were very thin, I heard the TV from a room next door all night. And although animals are not allowed I heard a dog barking all night. The mattress was horrible and all in all I couldn't wait to get home to shower and wash my clothes. Breakfast was per-packaged crap. Oh and my $115.00 cost quoted by Expedia ended up being $138 at the motel. My kids kept on asking where the Mrs. Bates was, it was a lot like Bates Motel. No fridge or microwave and mold present in the bathroom. NEVER AGAIN! If you can't get anything close to Cornell or Ithaca move your search a few miles out. It's hard to believe they have a AAA rating, The only good thing I can say is the location was great for those visiting Ithaca or Cornell.

Fine for a quick overnight stay in Ithaca area!

Clean and friendly desk clerk. Efficient and fine for an overnight stay in Ithaca area. About 3 miles from Cornell- easy to find. Would stay again for a quick overnight. Some noise from road but no big deal.

Close to Cornell mom-and-pop.
Posted Jan 30, 2013
Pros: Quiet setting close to Cornell at a good price.
Cons: Rooms need better soundproofing
Location: On Dryden road, northeast of Cornell campus.
No-frills but nice mom-and-pop establishment close to Cornell U. Easy access to the university and Ithaca downtown, and the price is right. Newer, two-story wing offers larger rooms and better soundproofing than the older, one-story section.

Too expensive for what it is
Posted Jan 12, 2012
Pros: Nothing
Cons: It is old.
Location: A twelve minute drive into town, but OK for us.
This motel was clean enough. It is old, but has been refurbished some. The room was very basic and not very big. The only real problem is that the price was way too high for the size, quality and ammenities.

Clean, convenient, 1 nite stay for college visit
Posted Jan 28, 2012
Pros: The sheets, blankets, mattresses, bathroom and room were very clean!!
Cons: Walls were a bit thin and we could hear the man next door coughing all night.
Location: Very convenient for college visits!!
We were in the area to visit a school and stayed 1 night. Although we were a bit skeptical as we pulled into the parking lot, the Embassy Inn was perfect for a 1 night stay. Although the facilities were not new, the room, sheets, blankets, mattresses and bathroom were very clean. I am extremely picky when it comes to cleanliness, so this was very important to me. The family that ran the motel was very nice. Continental bkfst in the am before we left for our college tour was perfect. The only thing missing was a clock in the room, which is ironic as blowdryers and shampoo were provided in the bathroom. Also, the soundproofing between rooms could be improved. Overall, I would definitely recommend this motel for a convenient, 1 night stay.

Sweet and Simple - Definitely recommend!

Great place. Clean. Quiet. Simple. About a ten minute drive to Ithaca Farmer's Market from this place. The mattress wasn't the best, but I slept fairly well. The room was fairly spacious and the bathroom was pretty big as well. We had two double beds and there was even room for a breakfast nook! The pastries and coffee in the office were a welcome surprise the next morning, and I can't say enough about how nice the staff was. Would definitely stay here again.

Worth a look
Posted Jan 13, 2012
It was a comfortable, quiet, clean room for a budget motel. It's family run and the owner is very pleasant. My only issues are that the room price ended being $60 more than I was quoted on Expedia - apparently taxes and surcharges are not included in the Expedia price for this motel. Also, housekeeping turned off the a/c after cleaning my room and it was warm and humid when I got back. I had even raised the temp before I left. Despite these two issues I'd stay there again.

Cheap, but nice
Posted Jan 17, 2012
The hot water ran out when I tried to take a shower, so I had to wait 30 min to get hot water. But once it was hot it was nice. The cleanliness of the room was decent, and okay for the price. The service was very friendly and helpful thought, so it wasn't a bad experience. For a cheap hotel it was what you paid for.
