The hotel is comfortable and well located

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: We liked its location, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the hotels staff are courteous and helpful.
Location: It has a good location, you can visit Cornell University, the lake, the museum, the vineyards, etc.
My husband and I liked the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. It was near to restaurants, supermarket, gas station, etc. and not far from the university. The housekeepers were always courteous, asking us if everything was all right, always there for us.

This hotel needs a renovation

Posted Oct 14, 2014
This hotel badly needs a renovation. Lots of scratched doors and walls. Tiles in shower falling out and paint chipping. For the cost I would expect a cleaner more up to date hotel.

First let me thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay. We are currently working on improving our Guest Rooms and we take your comments very seriously. In addition there are major updates planned for all of our Bath Tub surrounds which should greatly improve the look of our bathrooms. In addition the other items you mentioned are being passed on to the owner for consideration in our upcoming renovations.

Pros: Employees were great!
Location: Within walking distance to the mall.
Overall a decent room, but not great. Wallpaper was peeling in several places.

Cons: Either lower the price or renew.
Too expensive. Needs urgent renewal. At this price level one should expect better accommodations, an A/C that actually works. Better pillows, etc. Seems they haven't invested in the rooms for over 30 years. Location is good. Staff is courteous.

Room and bathroom could use an upgrade but location is super close to Cornell's North Campus.

Nice, eventless stay. Indifferent staff who performed their basic jobs.

Needs updating

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Staff is generally very nice and helpful. Conveniently located.
I have stayed at the Beacon before. I think it's not as good as it used to be. The air conditioning system is noisy. I could hear a lot of noise from the room next door. The lay-out of my particular room was quite cramped. Not all of the lights worked.

Very worn, indifferent staff

Posted Aug 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
> We checked in in the evening and were given a room on the second floor as far from the elevator as possible. We asked for a room closer to the elevator and even though the parking lots were 1/4 full, the young lady said she could not accommodate our request. Mistake, because they lost booking for 1 more night for 3 rooms. The room was pretty clean, but worn. The tiles and grout were broken in the shower, no breakfast, only decaf coffee with the room coffee machine, no powdered creamer. There is a Starbucks behind the ramada in target, so we got coffee there. We ended up changing to econo lodge across the street which had extremely friendly staff, a great breakfast, and was clean for similar pricing
