Location: The Statler is the only hotel on the Cornell campus. If you are in Ithaca to see Cornell, and if you arrive without a car, this is the place to be.
The Statler Hotel is the only hotel in Ithaca that is ON the Cornell campus. It's a bit pricey for what it is, but most of the hotels in Ithaca cost more than they should for an American hotel outside of a major city. That said, all members of the staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly.

Pros: It was great to see Cornell students to involved in the operation of the hotel. They are very courteous.
I am an alum and picked this hotel, because it is located right on the Cornell campus. The service is great. The rooms and the beds are very comfortable. There was valet parking that my friend used, it was only $12 for the whole weekend. When my friend and I were running late for an event and there was a wait for the car pickup, and the hotel staff were extremely helpful and were able to get the car to us faster. The only negative comment I have is that I think the price of the room is excessive. However, considering that staying at a lower price hotel in Ithaca Commons would require getting a cab to the events my friend and I were planning to attend, because we were going to be drinking, the price ended up being compatible.

Pros: The beds....no question!
Cons: Prices. Breakfast buffet was $18/person. Add a tip and you're talking over $40 for two.
Location: If you are visiting Cornell, there is no better location.
I have always wanted to stay here, but was unable to due to limited availability and the high cost. I found a room on relatively short notice at a slightly lower rate and snatched it up. The experience was absolutely divine!! The service and staff were outstanding. The location was right smack in the middle of the Cornell campus. I was on a college visit with my High School daughter and have a son currently attending Cornell. We wished we could stay longer because it was just so comfy!
