"Ideal except air conditioning, hard bed, and gym"
Beautiful surroundings, stunning private beach, excellent service. Nice large room with beautiful beach view. We would certainly go back, and we recommend this hotel. However, be advised that the air conditioning is marginal. At best, it just gets down to a temperature that makes it possible to sleep. Also, the bed, while king-size was surprisingly hard. We mentioned this to the staff and they brought an extra pad, which improved it. The gym was limited and not what it appeared in the picture we had seen in advance. No free weights, and the machines were an odd and duplicative selection, and little or no air conditioning. If you are OK with very firm bed, not-super air conditioning, and limited gym, you will be very happy with this hotel. The grounds are filled with many species of trees and birds, and the views and the beach are stunning and very private.

Decided to visit Ixtapa mexico looking for a relaxing and somewhat secluded vacation, in which Capella Ixtapa definitely provided. The boutique hotel sits right on the edge of the ocean cliffs which makes you feel like youre in a far off exotic location. We had the capella deluxe suite, which was amazing. The plunge pool, the view, and the pampered room service were enough to make us want to stay in the room the whole stay...however, we did explore the property and the nearby play linda and it was just what we were hoping for. The wait staff were super friendly and accommodating. We'd like to check out the nearby fishing village, Zihuatanejo, too. Can't wait to come back again!

This was my 13th visit to Presidente Ixtapa! The staff can not do enough to make sure you are well taken care of! One in our group had a medical situation and we got help within minutes! I love this place!

Absolutely loved the Azul Grand. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. Beautiful pools. The hotel is extremely clean and kept up very nicely. The only disappointment was the beach at the hotel. Very small and not useable. However, Ixtapa island is a short distance away with the best of beaches. I found the food to be excellent at both the buffet and specialty restaurants. I can't wait to go back!

"Beautiful All Inclusive Resort with amazing View"
The resort is beautiful and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed my experience. The first night at dinner the food was not very good at all. We were questioning what the week would be like if the food was this bad but we ended up with some very good meals. By the end of our stay we knew what food/places to eat. The dinner reservation places were delicious. The sand at the beach was heavy and almost muddy but that wasn't too big of an issue. There is a lot for kids to do. It's a very family oriented place. I wish the resort at free shuttles to and from the airport.

Our first trip to Ixtapa; wanted to try something different, yet similar to Huatulco. Based on our experience, I would recommend Ixtapa and the Sunscape Dorado. The hotel and grounds are well maintained with ample staff that were all generally very pleasant and responsive to our needs and special requests.
The restaurants on site offer a variety of options whether it was the daily buffets or the al a cartes. Happy to see that long pants and closed toe shoes for men were not required in any of the al a carte restaurants; only nice shorts, sandals, and shirts w/ sleeves were required. This was very welcome compared to other hotels we have stayed at over the years. The one negative we found was that the food in the buffets was never really hot (temperature) enough. Food quality was otherwise excellent, especially the Italian and International al a carte restaurants. Best coconut ice cream in the world!
The pool area was well maintained as was the beach front, although some of the loungers on the beach have seen their better days.
As mentioned, the staff were very good at the Sunscape Dorado from the restaurant/bar staff to the housekeeping and front desk personnel. Everybody we dealt with seemed genuinely interested in making our stay enjoyable.
Biggest negative about the hotel is the "chair game" that goes on. Who wants to get up at 5:00 am just to get a decent chair around the pool or on the beach? That is the one thing that MUST be fixed!

Staff was great, not every staff masters english, all very eager to help, had an issue with our room (bee nest) it was resolved to our satisfaction. Very clean, even garbage containers cleaned thoroughly! Be patient, it does take time for your room to be stocked with drinks and towels. Food was absolutely excellent, mostly Mexican cuisine (don't be shy to try the food it is amazing, if you don't like to expend your culinary horizon, or want a very large selection, choose a different hotel, and I am sorry for your loss) Decor, towels, shower head, tv set, and other details are ok, visible efforts of continuous upkeep and improvement.

Everything was fine for a vacation. Easy walking to other places to eat or buy things not offered by hotel. Hotel staff excellent. Rooms very clean and maid services were done very well. Food was more American than Mexican which I wanted Mexican since I was in Mexico. Was holiday week in Mexico so were many, many children in the pool but were very polite and well behaved. Would stay there again if I were to go back but a different time. Prices are very, very reasonable in Ixtapa as the dollars is very strong. Be aware of airport taxi scams inside the airport and their good deals to take you to hotel and pick you up. They do not show up when you pay for round trip. I would highly reccomend Krystal Hotel. This was my 3rd time to Ixtapa.

The modern resort town of Ixtapa lies about 5 km (3 mi) north of Zihuatanejo. Funded by the National Tourism Development Fund, Ixtapa was built from the ground up, with construction beginning in 1968. Set on a wide bay, the city’s 2-mile beachfront is lined with high-rise hotels, many from well-known chains. The city has several colonial- and modern-style malls connected by plazas and gardens.
