Azul IxtapaPosted Feb 6, 2014
Pros: Pool, waves on the beach were a good size for belly boarding.
Cons: The beach
Location: very close to Isla de Ixtapa.
Very nice hotel, but the beach was very disappointing. Something needs to be done with the crud that was in the water and that washed up on the beach!

Pros: Staff, location, food and drinks!
Cons: Pls provide paddle boards.
Location: Walk to Playa Linda for a local beach, shopping and see crocodiles. Ride horses on the beach at Playa Larga.
Excellent hotel, great location. Food outstanding, lot of choices and the staff is amazing, from the F&B areas to activities staff to the gym. Overall a great vacation spot for a fantastic value, every night there were entertainment with shows/DJ and Disco. We went for 12 days over Christmas and New Years and the resort hosted huge parties for each holiday- we will be back!

inclusive hotelPosted Jul 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel service was great my complaint is the food. We stayed 5 nights and the hotel repeats their menu options from day to day. What point is there in the hotel having 3 main restaurants if each one of them offers the same food just rotates it from restaurant to restaurant from day to day? By day three we were sick of the same options being offered. A 5 star hotel needs to be creative not repetitive.

Great for Mexican immersionPosted May 2, 2013
Pros: Nice outdoor areas
Cons: We were aggressively pursued by the Resort selling people... Secondly, limited international options for food and entertainment
Location: Ixtapa is a very nice area. Has a great cycling/running path right outside the hotel which provides a great workout option
The hotel is well located in the Ixtapa area. Overall the hotel and rooms are well kept and clean. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The beach area is small but also kept tidy. They have a nice variety of ammenities for small and young children. They have also nice outdoor facilities that are very enjoyable for the weather (e.g. sea food restaurant, out door theatre, discotheque and outdoor dinner show). The food, the music and the overall ambiance is very mexican as the visitors are predominantly local turists. Best choice of food while there would be of course Mexican. We enjoyed the stay but not very likely we would go back...

Great hotel, particularly for families.Posted Mar 31, 2013
Hotel was much better than expected. It surpassed by expectations...and I had read all of the reviews and really took time to select a hotel. It's perfect for families. We felt we were in a 5 star hotel. My kids would love to come back (ages 12, 15, 17).

Hotel ReviewPosted Mar 20, 2013
Pros: Large space with 2 large pools, the kids liked going to the pool tables at night, the food was good too
Cons: trying to get a big group all together in a certain area of the hotel, not being able to use the laundry even if we paid something
Location: A little out of town but buses stopped right in front of the hotel and we could get downtown very cheaply
The was a very nice place to stay with kids. The place was clean and the staff were helpful. We had a little confusion around getting all of our rooms together because we had a group of 12. I enjoyed the stay and would certainly stay there again.

Mexican families.Posted Feb 26, 2013
Pros: Beautiful beach, view, and sunsets. THe hotel was very clean, but food choices were very limited.
Location: Beautiful location, but very small beach.
The hotel is catering to families with children. They run the ADULT pool, cry at dinner, and run all over the hotel. It is really a hotel for Mexican families. Felt out of place.

Hotel staff gets a A+++++++++Posted Feb 20, 2013
My husband and I were at this hotel for 8 nights with our 20 month old son. We loved the hotel. Most friendly and helpful staff. The food is always fresh and tasty. We had a room with ocean view. The room is spacious, comfortable and clean. One minor complaint about the AC which is a bit too loud. Hotel is great for kids. There is baby sitting service for toddlers and bigger kids. A water park for children near the pool. Kids meal at the restaurants. Hotel is walking distance to the ferry which takes you to ixtapa island. So beautiful. Water is calm and clear. Even my baby son enjoyed playing in the ocean. We will definitely come back here again.

A WEEK IN PARADISEPosted Feb 17, 2013
Cons: Can't think of any
Location: Just north of the Ixtapa hotel zone, with Ixtapa Island just a short kayak trip across the bay. Absolutely beautiful!
WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO SAY! THE AZUL IXTAPA IS PHENOMENAL!!! THE LOCATION IS BEYOND BEAUTIFUL; THE FACILITIES ARE TOP NOTCH; BUT, THE PEOPLE ARE ITS GREATEST ASSET!!
