Very nice hotelPosted Mar 5, 2014
Pros: William Miller set up a wonderful excursion for us to the ruins and a tour of the area with an amazing beach side lunch! Unforgettable!!
Cons: Food - not much diversity. More access to a la carte restaurants. Another bar that you can pull up a bar stool and relax.
Beautiful new hotel. Gracious and attentive staff. Italian restaurant and Oriental were our favorite.

Beautiful hotelPosted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: Service and cleanliness were great!
Cons: The food buffet got a little boring, began to all taste the same.
Location: Location was a little far from town, with almost no beach out in front.
We had a great stay at the Azul Grand. The hotel was beautiful, very clean and well maintained. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a large jacuzzi tub, comfortable bed, lovely ocean view deck. The staff was extremely friendly and all the service was top notch. A couple of negatives were how far the hotel was from town and the lack of nice beach out in front, however, to the left of the hotel you can access a very nice beach, about a 5 minute walk. I would recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel and staffPosted Feb 6, 2014
Cons: Perhaps a larger selection of beer, and a mini bar in the room
Location: Beachfront, easy access to other attractions. Close to sister hotel and Playa Linda beach town.
On our recent 10 day stay, we enjoyed all of the hotel amenities and the friendly staff. The hotel was the cleanest, safest hotel we have encountered in over 10 years. We are already planning a return visit.

BEST VACATION EVERPosted Jan 14, 2014
Pros: great service, amazing views, beach access, beautiful facility
Cons: privacy in the bathrooms. the doors for the shower and toilet were fogged glass with no handle or lock
Location: See our friend Charlie if you want to do any tours! he runs up and down playa linda beach and will hook you up with anything you need.
My boyfriend and I stayed 7 days and the Grand Azul blew us away! the facilities were brand new and in great condition and the whole hotel was VERY clean. They even had a staff member whose job was to sweep up flowers that dropped on the ground. The daily buffet was awesome! omelets made to order, traditional american and Mexican dishes as well as cereal and fruit for kids! the room views were amazing. Every room had ocean views. the 3 restaurants housed by the hotel served beautiful and delicious food. Drinks were strong and the bars were plentiful. I had a massage at the spa and it was the best experience i had! 2 and a half hour of pampering! the locals were SO friendly and the staff was VERY accommodating.Every staff member i encountered went above and beyond to please the guests. I was a bit skeptical about previous reviews i read but everyone of the issues i read about was either not true or had been resolved. The sister resort is amazing too and they give you access to their bars and pools. not sure about food tho. I could go on and on about how wonderful Ixtapa and the Grand Azul is but there is no need my only advice is to book this hotel RIGHT NOW!

Very nice hotel with great customer service.Posted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: Very friendly people
Cons: Room service food choices and wifi
Location: Snorkelling at Las Gatas beach, Shopping at Zihuatanejo downtown, sunset cruise, deep sea fishing and swimming with the dolphins.
We went for 6 days and 6 nights and it was one of the best vacations we have had in a long time. We have kids of 3 and 7 years of age and it was a breeze with them. There is a day care and kid friendly pool with great choices for food. We went on an all inclusive package and so we could dine in anytime and drink anytime including at the pool. The beach is not the best but it was not a factor as we hung out near the pool most of the time.

Beautiful new hotelPosted Jan 3, 2014
Great place for family holiday. This was promoted as an adults only resort, but isn't adults only. Many families used the resort. Service was beyond excellent and place was very very clean. Food selections could have variety. Would recommend.

Paradise in IxtapaPosted Oct 6, 2013
Pros: The infinity pool. Spent a lot of time there.
Cons: There could be a little more imagination on a day to day basis for breakfast and lunch. Pretty soon, they started to taste the same.
Location: Snorkeling, fishing and kayaking. Go to Ixtapa Island; you don't need the higher priced excursion tours.
Beautiful, clean, new resort; great view out of all rooms; wonderful, warm staff; good food; ample alcohol; not over-run with children (not that I don't love children but not on my adult vacation). The spa is to die for. Close to Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo (we preferred the smaller Ixtapa) by bus. We were here 9 nights (survived tropical storm Manuel) and plan to return with our family. If you like all-inclusives, this Azul Grande is a sure bet.

modern with a great view,Posted Feb 12, 2013
Pros: tamarindo margarita, buffet was good, hamburgers at snack bar
Cons: la cueva bar was closed the whole time we were there. beautiful but not able to enjoy
Location: minutes away from downtown
I was disappointed with the beach area, it is small and rocky, but it does have 3 great pools. to enjoy the beach you have to walk over and cross bridge over to sister hotel. show entertainment was held at the sister resort, but we were not allowed to use their facilities, food, drinks or disco even though we stayed at the grand. azul lounge was great, colorful and comfortable. great service, staff was very attentive and accomodating. italian restaurant was not that great, but asian and mexican were delicious. facililty was very well kept, clean, spotless. enjoyed watching the sunsets from balcony. enjoyed live band at lounge, bicycle tour

Azul Grand is grand!Posted Feb 1, 2013
Pros: amazing view, luxurious rooms, staff that go out of their way in customer service. Close to beautiful beaches and handy for local buses (cheap!)
Cons: Buffet could be improved
This is a brand new hotel and as such first impressions of this hotel were great. The room, location, ocean view from every room overlooking Ixtapa Island were outstanding. When we arrived the hotel was not full and most of the vacationers were Mexican families and everyone was pleasant and having a good time. The hotel initially advertised "adult only" but due to lack of reservations they opened up to families with children. I hope with better advertising the numbers will increase and they can go back to this format. The sister hotel next to the property welcomes all families. I can't say enough about the staff; they put so much effort into making your stay wonderful. The servers Oscar and Antonio were amazing! Not all the specialty restaurants were open for dinner, again due to lack of hotel patrons, and rotated as to what was available. The food was very good at these restaurants. The all day buffet got tired; needed more variety and fresher food. The freshly squeezed fruit juices for breakfast were delicious! Service around the pool was excellent and attentive. This hotel has a boardwalk close by that takes you a beach which is in walking distance to the pier where you can take a water taxi for 40 pesos -return- to check out Ixtapa Island. This hotel has potential to be a fully operational beautiful resort, just need to market better to international travellers - have a website in English dedicated to the hotel.
