Family Friendly, Right on the beach, time to relaxPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: The beach is right there, pass the pool, down the steps and you are there!
Location: Mamma Norma & Deborah is the place to eat, nearby is the flea market just a few blocks down. Or grab a taxi for less then $10 and go shop in Zihyatan
We arrived about 2 hours before we could check in, but the staff took our bags and let us get changed and enjoy the pool and beach until our room was ready. We did not take the all inclusive option because we planned on being out during the day and evening, I would also advise going across the street for breakfast, Mamma Norma and Deborah is the place for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the price is right. If doing the all inclusive, enjoy, you will never need to leave the hotel, swim up bar, snacks, buffet breakfast lunch and dinner.

30 year old resort and looks like it...Posted Aug 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Emporio Hotel is rated a 4star facility, however this scale is not universal obviously, I would rate it 2 stars and it needs repair and training to achieve that rating... The worst violation, if there were such things in Mexico, would be the pool bar, which you could smell the bar-rot from 50 meters... Absolutely disgusting.... If you are accustomed to nice hotels, and good service the Emporio will be a huge disappointment....

The staff is great. Good experience. The air conditioning was making some noise so they gave us a new a room. Everything was great after that.

Moldy hotel! Skip it, seriously- Stay in ZihuPosted Apr 13, 2013
Pros: good location, thats about it....
Cons: Moldy smell, small rooms, no deck, Terrible food.
Location: very good for Ixtapa
Arriving at the hotel we were inpressed with the look for the price we paid. Beautiful lobby with ocean views. BUT.... as we exited the elevator on the 5th floor we were immidiatly hit by the smell of mold. Overpowering and not dismissable. The bellhop lead us to our room, which had an even more powerful aroma of mold and/or what reminded us of freezer burn. The room was small but looked clean enough, hard to get over the smell... There was no hot water for the bulk of our stay and the A/C was questionable (only cooled the room to about 73F and didnt work until we called the repair man to fix it on day 1). The location is good for Ixtapa, but I would suggest anyone going to this area skip Ixtapa and go to Zihu instead. Stay near play de Ropa (nicer beach, nots of tourists) or playa de Medira (not as nice a beach, but walkable to dwn town (huge Plus) and more of a local experience). Have a great trip!!

Pros: Very friendly staff
Cons: Laundry service
Location: Very safe place
Everything was great and had a wonderful time. The only thing that was wrong is they charge way to much for laundry service.
