Pros: Location Waiters on the beach
Cons: Read above - SERVICE, FOOD, HOSPITALITY, UPKEEP, GENERAL MAINTENANCE and UPGRADING. Did I mention the service, hospitality and food! HORRIBLE!
Location: Can walk to everything easily from this location. But it's not worth all the other things wrong with this place to compromise for just the location.
They do not return emails. You are made to wait for your room until the check in time - no matter how early you arrive. You pay for ALL INCLUSIVE and you are given a sheet stating that you are SEMI-INCLUSIVE. If you want guacamole you have to PAY FOR IT! If you are wearing the "Semi-All inclusive" green bracelet - you may as well be non existent to the wait staff in the restaurants. We would be lucky to get a glass of water before the end of our meal. Request some cream for your coffee and you finally get that when the coffee is good and cold. At one point we cleared our own dishes! If you had a different colored wrist band than green you could get all the attentive service you could handle and a smile. Most of all the food is DREADFUL!!!!! We went to the BBQ by the ocean, which ended up being another buffet - the meat (if that's what it was) was burnt, dry, disgusting, no flavor, there were 3 leaves of Romaine in the buffet for a salad - they were not good at keeping the food stocked at all, at any time. You could scrape together a small breakfast of yogurt and under ripe pineapple, good luck finding anything to make a salad out of for lunch and after that BBQ disaster we went out to eat in town paying for 9 dinners instead of eating at our "All" inclusive hotel. It seemed other people with green bracelet shared the same experiences as we did with lack of service, bad food, and not understanding what we could and could not have. Same band - different allotments CONFUSING!

Family vacation at Emporio-Ixtapa

Pros: Accommodations, Staff, location, access to good beach and pool. Low key entertainment and activities.
Cons: the WiFi needs to be extended to work in the rooms and anywhere in the hotel not just the lobby/bar.
Location: Mexican culture experience in Zihuatenejo, parasailing, deep see fishing, Walking on the beach and great massages.
What a great family time. Great rooms (everything was functioning) Staff was helpful and courteous. Price was right. The 3 choice from European to all inclusive was right on. We choice the European Plan so we good enjoy the great restaurants of Ixtapa / Zihuatanejo as well as have breakfast and lunch at the hotel.

Pros: Buen restaurante con vista sobre el mar, bonita y limpia alberca,
Cons: Tener una cafetera y micro-onda en la habitacion, y tambien internet Wi-fi dentro los habitaciones.
Location: Hay muchas restaurantes, y bar cerca.
Mi esposa e yo llegamos en el Hotel Emporio a las dos de la tardes. Teniamos una reservacion. El personal era .cortes. Me no gusta que el bel boy me pregunto mas dinero que yo le regale para su asistancia. Yo le regale de 50 pesos, y me pregunto 100.

Pros: Nice open concept for lobby area, friendly staff, clean rooms and comfortable bed
Cons: Other than being slightly dated, our overall experience was enjoyable.
Location: Nice location with excellent beach access , lots of shopping and local restaurants across the street, marina about 1km away, short taxi or bus ride to
4 PM check in so had to wait for an hour and half but staff very friendly and helpful, large room nice and clean slightly dated but very comfortable, Oceanview room gave fantastic view and although it was right beside the elevator was very quiet. We weren't all inclusive so we can't comment of the food. I would highly recommend a small restaurant (Mamma Norma's Deborah) across the street in the mall area, excellent food and half the price.

Cons: The bar at the pool, amp up the wifi strength and reach
Location: Everything you need is within a 10 min walk. Nice walking and bicycle lanes, super safe at night. Clubbing, eating, shopping, or just plain relax.
From day one, Ixtapa and Hotel Emporio delivered!! From the front desk to the restaurant staff, to the bellman to the spa attendant. Everyone was so nice and helpful.

Pros: Service,cleanliness,friendly staff,very good restaurant.
Cons: Noisy and pool side staff need retraining. Hotel is losing a lot of revenue here due to substandard service and poor supervision at pool.
Location: Taxi from airport cost 430 pesos and 280 pesos back to airport. It was 140 pesos to Zihuatanejo and 90 to return. The hotel is right on the beach.
Stayed for 3 Weeks Jan 2015. Hotel is older but well maintained. Very Clean, Hard working staff, could use a few improvements, can be extremely noisy especially on Friday and Saturday nights. One Saturday night wedding went on with blaring music until after 1:30 am. Music drifting over from the Dorado Hotel also on Friday and Saturday nights, do not expect much sleep on these nights. Restaurants and Shopping across the street as well as bank machines.The big thing on the beach here is Parasailing and Jet ski rentals,not much else. You can go in the water but you have to be careful. Waves can be strong and large and is not for children. Go out past the break and you can see sting rays in the water. Housekeeping staff were hard working and did a great job. The Sea View restaurant was very good, service, quality,prices and cleanliness. Front desk staff were friendly and did a great job! Pool side service needs major overhaul. A simple (Can I get you anything?) to every single guest and on a frequent basis would boost revenue dramatically!!! Usually you have to go and get your own drink. I do not have a problem with that, just saying hotel is losing a lot of potential revenue.

Pros: It is a good size, not too big but big enough. There is never much of a wait for the elevators and plenty of chairs by the pool and on the beach.
Location: It is centrally located so it's near restaurants and the market.
We came here because we enjoyed it last year, we were impressed some of the staff remembered us from last year. They seem very friendly and accommodating. It's not brand-new nice, but certainly well kept. And the location is great, a short walk to all the restaurants. We will go back again!

Location: We have been going here for 10 years No shortage of things to do Still have to be careful Time share people very persistent
Upon arrival everything was going good for Mexico Check in was lengthy & more complicated than it need be Not being familiar with check in procedures I did not tip the first baggage handler I thought he would be taking my baggage to the room later Another staff took us to the room after check in As it ended up the first baggage handler had applied black grease to the zipper pulls on 1 bag Our reservation was for a mountain view room They put us in an ocean view room When we went to add another day to our stay they not only charged full rate but also for an ocean view room even though it was their mistake putting us in the ocean view in the first place Check out went smoothly
