“A consistently outstanding experience!”

This was our 4th time at Villa Mexicana. The hotel is charming and laid-back. The staff is very welcoming and always wishing to please. The location and the view are stupendous. There are many people who return year after year to this property (we are one such couple) and with good reason. It feels like coming home. It is a gem!

“Viva Mexican, playa de la ropa, fantastic”

This was my 2nd stay at Villa Mexicana. My daughter and her boy friend went with me the 2nd time, ist time by myself. The hotel was recommended to me by a friend who stays in the area 2 mos. at a time from Nov.- Jan. We stayed at the Sotavento for many years before they redeveloped. We all enjoyed our stay. The staff were very accomadating. Rooms great (we got the balcony rooms this time) got a bit more privacy this way. Beds in this regione are always on the firm side. I booked the trip flight and hotel together this time thinking the breakfast was included but come to find out it wasn't. First time I booked everything seperate and got the morning meal included but not so with the 2nd trip. We plan again to return in 2013 and hope to get everything included next time. Again we thank the hotel and staff for their genorosity. We never felt unsafe the whole trip. Sailing was great. Fishing fair. Ocean perfect. Thank You Expedia/Villa Mexicana/Mexico.

“Perfect location”

Extremely nice & helpful staff, especially the front desk. The staff always kept areas cleaned, and if you pointed something out to them the staff would attend to the issue promptly. Even though construction was going on which was annoying at times the Villa Mexicana is a very nice hotel and located perfectly on LaRopa beach.

“exceptional hotel, both service and location”

this hotel is ON THE BEACH, with a pool steps from many ground-floor rooms. restaurant for breakfast was superb, each day a different pleasing entree with helpful, courteous waiters. hotel front staff is exceptional, could not have been better or nicer or more pleasant. it is within easy walk to half a dozen also excellent restaurants (except La Perla...we had a very surly waiter there). Mary's, Elvira's, Patti's (great margaritas), Rosy's. the surf was soft, the vendors considerate and low-key. my husband has great difficulty getting in and out of the ocean and one very nice mexican man, who owns a hobie cat for rent, named Javier, helped him when he needed it...one could not ask for more. (except that perhaps the hotel should keep the kids in the kiddie pool...that did NOT happen, and could be annoying for older guests.) but it is perfectly located. town is close and can be walked. taxi drivers are not as helpful as almost everyone else in Zihuananejo, but if one negotiates the ride before hand, it is at least not a hassle. we are going back soon to this same hotel. we plan to bring our relatives from London. it is a perfect place for a vacation, and very reasonably priced.

“A family holiday for two or more.”

The Hotel Mexicana is close to the beach and very friendly and convenient for walking or getting a cab. Our room overlooked the pool and had a wonderful view of the beach and the sunsets. We had friends join us for many breakfast's and dinners during the week we were there. We were never disappointed.

“A magical stay in Zihua”

We've visited Zihua several times and have especially enjoyed the times spent on La Ropa! Villa Mexicana is the perfect spot for sunsets, morning runs, a swim in the ocean or fabulous pool, lounging in the sun OR for dining! The hotel restaurant has the best guacamole in town! Great breakfasts ,lunch and dinner too - so very convenient! It's a $3 cab ride to the pier, sailboats and more to rent out the front door, yet it remains charming and quaint. The whole week was, well, magical!

“Sweet Mexican Beach Getaway”

Right on the beach with all the amenities you could want - small shop, tour desk, restaurant, bar, pool, room servie, phone, TV, etc. I perfect little get-away spot in sunny Mexico for the low-key traveler that's looking for character, beach access and relaxation. This is not a luxury hotel. For us the luxury was getting up in the morning, wandering out the door of our room and having the beach at our feet and friendly service.
