“Great location and staff”
We go to Las Brisas Ixtapa every year this time, the hotel has great architectural presence and it overlooks what is essentially a private beachfront for the hotel. There are definite signs of wear this time around -- a plug didn't work in the room, the toilet needed maintenance, and the gym equipment is a bit tired. Still, for a thanksgiving beach vacation we always go back to Las Brisas
“Second visit - rainy season timing great”
Will go back to Las Brisas because of classic pacific-side Mexico charm. Genuine interest in its guests's experience is why i'll go back a third or more time. Traveled with a friend Sept 11-17. Hotel at 5 percent capacity - had the beach and pools to ourselves. Great place for relaxation and privacy. Low guest count due to end of rainy season. Only 10 or so guests for most of the week until the Mexican Independence Day thurs-sun. Locals brought the hotel to capacity which was nice to see. Still had wonderful service from maids, waiters and hotel management. Never a problem and frankly, if you have one when you're here on vacation, you have other issues :)
“Beautiful secluded location, nice views, way overpriced”
Overall impression, it’s a great place to stay if you want peace and quiet away from the busy touristy parts of Ixtapa. It’s a long walk to the town so take a taxi. The room was nice overall. The bed was so hard though that our arms kept falling asleep. I do not recommend spending any time at the pool. It was disgustingly filthy inside and out, and we are pretty sure the older couple sharing the pool with us was having sex – so we left and didn’t return. The private beach is very nice, but I highly recommend eating before heading down there as the prices are outrageous! We spent $45 on “shrimp cocktail” which consisted of 5 shrimp and a few tortilla chips, a “tuna stuffed avocado” which was half an under-ripened avocado stuffed with watery tuna salad and a couple tomato slices, and a bottle of water. The Portofino was way overpriced and the food was gross! The only thing good there was the little chocolate truffles you get with your check. The room was kept clean, but we noticed the cleaning ladies entered our room everytime we left. They knocked on our door at 10:30pm to ask if we needed the minibar changed out. The view from our room was amazing and we enjoyed many sunsets. Loved having the hammock and chairs, though when sitting you can't see over the half wall, so if you want to see the beach or the view, you need to stand. It rained each day which meant that our ceiling leaked onto the couch. We reported it, but they never came to fix it or mentioned it again.
“Not what we had the past 5 times”
In the past the Beach Club had it's own floor, breakfast and happy hour room, personal concierge and nobody under 18 years old, it was nice and peaceful. This year they put us on a main floor, no concierge at all in the entire hotel, and they tried to charge us for a phone call to make a reservation for dinner. Then we had a huge leak in our room, I do understand the tropical storm was out of your control, but an upgrade would have been appreciated, as opposed to a lower floor. This isn't our first time at this hotel, we spent you honeymoon there and every fifth wedding anniversary ever since, we know what the Beach Club offers and usually delivers, this wasn't it, it was our 20th anniversary. We were very disappointed.
“A great option in Ixtapa”
The hotel, the service was great. The only problem is the price of the sodas, and snaks at the pool. For me was a little high. Great room, great view.
“Very nice hotel, but the nickel and diming every item was very exhausting.”
The drinks were way over priced. We wound up buying Cerveza and Alcohol in town and putting it in coolers. They charge for coffee so we brought our own. We had spiders - HUGE and 1 roach throughout our stay. Charging to use the internet is ridiculous. We had to pay for the tennis court even though we brought our own rackets and balls... discouraging. The staff is super friendly and very attentive. Love the fresh towels and night service. The food was good. Love the guacamole. Happy Hour isn't so happy at $12 for 2 beers.
“Our 4th visit. We love it every time.”
The employees treat the guests like family. The property is beautiful. There are lots of stairs everywhere so some people may not like that. We had another great experience at Las Brisas Ixtapa. Highly recommended.
“Ixtapa's Best!”
All your staff up the top of the line!
“You won't be disappointed”
Great hotel, great staff, great food, great view, great beach.
“Great Spot”
Beautiful hotel. Great food. Best chips and salsa; very good seafood. Better than average resort food. Not crowded. Beautiful ocean views. Spacious rooms. Lots of privacy on the balconies. Bed mattress was a little too firm, not terribly comfortable. Room was a little dusty and could have used a bit better attention to detail with cleaning. I travel to Mexico every winter. I usually go to a different location every year. I think Ixtapa/Zihuatenejo and Las Brisas will be my go to spot evey year.
