HEAVEN !!!!Posted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: EVERYTHING !!
Location: Don't miss Il Mar down the street for dinner at sunset!!!
As always, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Viceroy......we have been coming to Zihuatenajo for years (20+) and this is the only place we want to stay. Our suite was beautiful and the staff is wonderful, seeing to our every need. The recent hurricane came and went and what was damaged was being quickly repaired !! The General Manager, Martin Kipping, is doing a great job with this very special property. We are already looking forward to visiting during the same time next year!

Wonderful location, lovely Lagoon SuitePosted Oct 12, 2013
We would go back to the Viceroy Hotel for sure. The Lagoon suite was wonderful, clean, and air conditioned nicely. We had breakfast included and I would highly suggest that!! ( mostly because the food IS so expensive) Fresh, just made, tropical fruit juices of all flavors. ( The ginger, pineapple, orange& mint was my favorite) and every breakfast was good. We love to explore, so not spending the 120 dollars night on dinner was not too big of a problem, as we tried many other restaurants. Near by, before you even get to Zihuatanejo, there is the Sunset Grill, with a beautiful view, the.. Mare something:( can remember it all but it is right up the hill from the hotel) with awesome food and an outstanding view. The other one was the Bistro Del Mar, about half was to town, but on the beach for another breathtaking evening, at Playa La Madera

Excelent experiencePosted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: The luxury, the personnel (for them and to please you everything is posible), the location, the food, etc.
Cons: We liked everything
Location: Walking, you can eat very nice, do a fishing trip, many water activities (waverunner, ski, snorkelling)
If you are looking for a romantic and pleasent break. This is the perfect hotel and place. it has the best facilites, the best staff, in a beatiful beach. My wife and I have 13 years of marriage, and we enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel is located in the heart of zihuatenejo (150 miles south of Acapulco) so you can enjoy the beatiful hotel and the beach, at the same time you can taste the flavor of the town. In the afternoon you can see the fihsermen in the very front of the hotel. In the beach, very near the hotel (beside the excelent cuisine of the hotel, but for much less money) you can enjoy the freshest and delicious fish, shrimp, lobster, octopus, oyster (everything) caught in the same day. The people is very friendly. You can also choose to stay all day in the hotel facilites and you won´t regret it. This has been one of the best vacations my wife and I have had.

We truly found paradise, Just like Jacques CoustauPosted Aug 23, 2013
When we booked this vacation, we were not sure about it. There were so many comments about Mexico being dangerous that we had many concerns. Today we think this is probably one of the best holidays we have ever taken. We really wanted to relax and get away from the city. To our positive surprise the hotel was not busy at all which made things perfect for a relaxing time with the family. We never ever felt in danger. People were really nice and helpful everywhere we went. The Hotel is out of this word. One of the things that we truly valued was to have the kids in another room. Space does matter now that our daughter is 18 years old. Another thing that we will never forget was to have breakfast next to beach admiring the beautiful bay. Another one was the beach itself, the sand was really light almost white, clean and hard. The water and waves were perfect.. I would say even better than Riviera Maya. The Hotel had tennis courts which we used everyday with our son and last but not least the FOOD and STAFF, everything fresh and so many natural flavors, The Staff always with a smile. We booked this hotel via expedia and got a great deal.. we would definitely consider going back to our beautiful paradise in the near future ... They said that the best time of the year is Nov .. cant wait to return !

Location and Service Are a Standout!Posted Aug 18, 2013
A first class property with a central beach front locale in La Ropa. Grounds are exquisitely maintained in lush topical native plants and sleeping quarters are situated in a bungalow arrangement lending privacy and an "estate" feel. Restaurants and bars deliver excellent meals. What made the stay were staff's attention to detail - - on the beach, palapa, restaurant, housekeeping, you name it the Viceroy's people made it a memorable stay. If a traveler desires a quiet, topical, first class retreat with all the amenities, this property won't disappoint.

Tropical paradisePosted Aug 14, 2013
Pros: Morning coffee service, amazingly courteous staff, beach area, grounds
Cons: Wifi service was sketchy, outdoor living area needed sun shade and/or more fans, no a/c in bathrooms
Really can't complain. The food was amazing - particularly the I clouded breakfast

Great location, nice facilitiesPosted Jul 22, 2013
Pros: The location, the beach facilities and pools and nice rooms.
Cons: The restaurants seemed over priced and not that good compared to other nice restaurants in the immediate area.
Location: Relaxing on the beach, taking long walks, getting a massage every day (200 pesos per hour) at beach tents a short walk from the hotel.
The rooms are wonderful, the beach is fantastic, the hotel staff could use a little customer service training... but nothing that really created a problem. We loved being in Zihuatanejo rather than Ixtapa. The restaurants at the hotel were only so so, and expensive compared to a number of other fantastic restaurants. We suggest that you go to a different restaurant in the immediate area each night (a $4 taxi ride) and skip the hotel restaurants. for breakfast there are very good inexpensive places within 5 minute walk on the beach. We will definitely come back to this hotel next time we come to Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa.

Little paradisePosted Jul 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
We loved our stay at the Viceroy. The staff are all so friendly and knew us and our favorite drinks by the second day. You can't beat the beautiful setting which is right on the beach with a lovely outlook of the bay. We recommend the lagoon suite with one caveat- you have to be able to sleep with the frog and toad chorus. The best part was this time of year was uncrowded and yet the temperature was perfect. We will be back!

The hotel was beautiful! The food at both restaurants was fabulous and the service was superb. We loved that it was secluded and not very crowded. We would definitely go back.
