    “The place to rest when touring Turkey or travelling for business”

    Crown Plaza is the best hotel in Izmir. After 10 days in Istanbul, Gallipoli, Canakkale, Troy etc... it was nice to relax in the hot spring water pool. The Spa is just great. It is well located, directly on the Egean Sea, a short distance from the center with a nice promenade and many services nearby.

    “Great Hotel”

    Everything about the Crown Plaza Hotel, Izmir was excellent, staff were very helpful, Spa and Pool facilities excellent, and Pool and Bar Menu had healthy options on food and drinks which was very welcoming to see. Would return again.

    “Comfortable hotel for business or pleasure”

    I stayed at this hotel for three nights in May 2012 as part of a one week holiday to Istanbul and Izmir. We had large luxurious double rooms facing the bay. At first the hotel appears to be isolated on the 'wrong' side of the bay but this is actually of significant benefit as we were away from the hustle and bustle of this busy port town, but afforded with excellent access via the FREE and frequent shuttle bus service. The view of the bay during both day and night is simply breathtaking. The hotel reception sorted out tours for us quickly at short notice to both Pergamum and Ephesus. The guide and organisation of the tours was excellent. This is a 4 star hotel rather than a 5 in my opinion. There was little pre-emption of our service requirements and we didn't have the flexiblity or amenities that you would expect at a 5 star hotel, for example the pool outside was empty and we couldn't eat our breakfast outside despite excellent weather. The roof bar has limited opening times. Minor quibbles as the room rates we obtained for May 2012 through expedia represented outstanding value. Breakfast is good for this type of hotel in Turkey and we were well fed each morning. The coffee is truly awful, freeze dried coffee with hot water in a metal jug. Internet is decent at no extra cost, wireless in the rooms as well as common areas. I recommend the Crowne Plaza Izmir to business and leisure travelers. More seating outside would be welcome and please, the coffee :^)
