This is a good hotel very close to the Baseme subway and train station. The water was hot and the bedsheets clean. There is even a pot to make tea in the room, along with a mini-refrigerator. The free buffet breakfast was good as well. Additionally, they do offer excursions to the main tourist sites out of town for a reasonable price. I would easily stay here again for the price offered.

Unfortunately this is my first bad review. I was debating if I should even write it but then I thought I don’t want anyone else to be in a situation that I was in especially someone with children. The pictures they have on the site are taken years ago because the hotel is in horrible condition. The room reeked of cigarette smell. We asked to be moved they didn’t want to help us in anyway. Mind you we don’t smoke and we we’re staying there with our son and daughter. The room was filthy. There were stains all over the room. Blood stains on the floor. We found used tissues in the bedding of one bed. The sheets were stained. The furniture was stained. The room seemed like it hasn’t been cleaned in a while. There was no hot water. No light in the room and the walls seemed to be paper thin. There was someone arguing until early morning. The elevator is next to the room and you feel and hear the noise. The Wi-Fi worked for 15 minutes then it completely stopped. Even the satellite tv stopped working. We couldn’t even shower because the bathroom was that dirty. We were stuck I couldn’t find another room and I’m sure they wouldn’t have refunded our money. Do yourself a favor and don’t go to that hotel. The only positive thing about this hotel was the parking person. He was very nice. I just wish I could post the pictures of this as well.

This hotel is just barely OK. The rooms are outdated and dirty. The hallways are dirty and noisy. The staff was not friendly, nor they unfriendly just OK. The area is very busy and noisy. I would not stay this hotel again I would stay closer to the water.

The lobby and the rooms are clean. The lift is tiny. Internet is horrible. The connection keeps dropping off every few minutes. They know the issue but don't care or unable to solve it.

It had a nice breakfast and beautiful entry. Cons: Downtown and had terrible traffic, hard to find, rooms were in terrible Shape, many things were broken. Bedrooms looked really run down. Also had terrible internet.

My check-in was not at all smooth and I was very tired after an 8-hour car journey and having messaged ahead of my arrival time. By the end of my 3-night stay I had a much better feeling about this hotel. I know that management was trying to improve my stay after the rocky start. Unfortunately, the wifi is really poor - so much so that in the initial room I was in none of my 3 devices could even connect to it! When moved to a 1st floor room I could connect but the speeds were horribly slow and sometimes clipped out altogether. I was also surprised that the room safes are not working! It seemed to me that the hotel security is really good and the employees very trustworthy so perhaps they should not advertise 'in room safes'. Otherwise, the bed was SUPER comfortable and the shower was TOPS! Some of the staff were just wonderful and made my stay enjoyable although I was stressed out by the hiccups during my arrival. I strongly recommend this hotel for a stay of 1-3 nights and you will be very conveniently located and comfortable.

In general, it’s acceptable. Everything in room was new but I had a tiny room, no fresh air at all. Breakfast was so poor. It was clean. The location of a hotel is reachable but the environment I didn’t like at all.

Poor breakfast
The locaion was great. central to everything. Breakfast was really poor. Same everyday - Boil eggs daily. When I requested for an omellete i was told sorry no can do. The hotel was very dark. most lights turned off. the beds very low and not too comfortable. The staff helpful with directions and things to do in city.

Hotel is renovated, located in center. I advise to go to park and walk the streets in that area. Main streets are too crowded and chaotic. I booked Twin category in both cases. That is definitely better than Double or Single but has small shower cabin. In all shower cabins here there is no shelf for soap/shampoo. Breakfast is good. Had to re-charge the room card every 1-2 days, as it constantly stops working.

Great for a short stay...
Close to Basmane station and seafront. Very clean with a satisfactory breakfast. Few tourists around so can sample typical Turkish town life.

What a gem of a hotel
Realy easy to get here from airport, havaas bus stops a short block away. Great room, great price! Nice breakfast, very fancy breakfast room. The staff at this hotel are just the best, they all go out of their way to make sure your every question and need is taken care of. Nothing is too much for this hotel to help you out with. Very central to all your tourist needs.

The hotel was clean, staff were helpful and friendly. We stayed in four bed room which was nice and warm. The only negative the lighting was poor in the room. The hotel is within walk distince to shops and everything else.

Hotel Zeybek is convenient located near the Izmir station and bazar. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. However, our room was dirty. It had obviously not been vacuumed under the bed. The towels were threadbare. Our window looked onto a dirty airshaft. The lobby and breakfast area spelled like cigarettes. We arrived at 1:00 AM after a delayed flight and long taxi ride, so we were too tired to care about any of these shortcomings, but they may bother guests booking a longer stay.

Hotel Zeybek was the second stop on my trip. The room was clean and comfortable. I was pleased with the size of the room as well. The area was interesting. The location was geographically convenient. It was located near the shore and bus/metro station. Bazaars, restaurants and stores are within walking distance. There was a large number of refugees in the area and they appeared to be renting and sharing rooms in the hotel. Because there was so much traffic in and out of the hotel I did feel a little less safe than I had at other hotels in Turkey. I have to say that the staff was extraordinary. Hotels.com messed up my group's reservation and when we arrived the hotel had no knowledge that we were arriving that day. The guy got us a room at another hotel nearby..paid for the night for each of us, rode in the taxi to get us to the other hotel and paid for it , then paid for and had a taxi pick us up the next day to take us back to his hotel..can't beat that kind of service!

hotel in excellent location-very central...train to airport only 14 mins and price of 2,75 T L, Metro to airport was 30mins and 10 TL we had room nos. 401 on 4th floor and it was very spacious and the shower was too good, with huge tub bath which had jet sprays in it. The hotel provided very good breakfast. Tiny fridge in the room, where we could our fruit etc. Supermarkets was 2mins from hotel and good resturants around the hotel. Cannot fault the hotel at all, and would definately stay there again.

The staffs were nice and friendly. Some staffs will go above and beyond. Our stay at the hotel was okay but not great. We had to request to change our room since the bathroom had molds. Doesn`t seem like its a big concern for the hotel management. There are no alarm clocks, coffee machine or an iron. This hotel definitely needs to modernize rooms.
