“Great Location...once you get there...”

Stayed here on the last night of a backcountry camp trip in the summer. It is a wonderful location with a lot of winter activities. It is absolutely NOT convenient to the airport though. Granted...nothing outside of Jackson is convenient to the airport...but this location is about an hour and 15 minutes with no traffic from Jackson. Room was very nice, clean, and quiet. Restaurant was good and not overly expensive. I would like to return in the winter for skiing!

“Fabulous!!”

It was a great hotel! I love ski resorts in the summertime - so relaxed and unhurried. Not that many people, but still the amenities that you like - pool, beautiful serene surroundings. You can even ride the ski lift up to the top of the mountain for a wonderful view. Wildflowers galore. Great breakfast, too, which was included. Can't say enough!

The service at the lodge was excallent. The facilities were all very clean and well kept. We recomend trying the Steakhouse, the food was top of the line and the service was great. And the view at the lodge is wonderful, top notch facility.

“Nice resort but a bit shy of being 5 star.”

Grand Targhee is showing it's age. The hotel rooms need an upgrade. They look like motel rooms from the 80s. Also the walls / door and floors are not sound proof so you hear EVERYTHING at night. The room was clean and the beds were fine. There wasn't any A./C but the nights are cool so it wasn't a problem. The resort itself was smaller than I thought it would be. We had a lovely dinner in the one and only restaurant. Serve was excellent as was the food. Funny thing was my husband wanted a draft beer with dinner but the restaurant didn't serve it. He was told to go to the bar across the courtyard to buy one and bring it in to dinner. The bar serves food as well but pub fare than fine dining. We were informed by the guest services that a band was playing at 9pm. We went but the show didn't start till almost 10pm. They were great but we only stayed a short while since we had a early start the next day. The "Free" breakfast was served in the restaurant. We had better breakfastes at all the other hotels on our week long trip. They don't offer free juice or coffee! Only water. We paid for the coffee. This tactic is used to make sure the servers get tips. That ploy gives them a 3.5 star in my book. I've stayed at hotels for half the price of this one and always got a free coffee in the morning. On the positive side..the views from the top of the chairlift was AMAZING. Well worth the $15 lift ride. The pool and hot tup were great too. This resort is perfect for young skiers.

“Good alternative to Jackson, WY”

Nice off-the-beaten-path, off-season retreat in the summer. One way in, one way out, twenty minute, scenic drive to nearest town of Driggs, ID. About 1 hour to Jackson.

“Better than staying in Jackson”

If you prefer quiet alpine beauty over crowded tourist traps this is your place. Grand Targhee is a worthy summertime destination and I plan on coming back and staying longer next time. Have no complaints about the lodging exepct that the hot tub was closed. Loved the The disc golf course. The views from the top of the chairlift are outstanding.
