Perhaps the Worst Motel in Jackson Hole

Posted Oct 16, 2013
The exhaust unit in the bathroom ceiling was bent, hanging partly out of its mounting fixture, and seemed in danger of falling out. There were no racks anywhere to hang used towels on. There was only one rack for hanging clothes. Although the pillow cases were clean, all the pillows, themselves (on both beds), were dirty! Also, the mattress covers on both beds were significantly stained. The only lights in the room were above the two beds. One had a pull-chain switch, the other's pull-chain was missing. It could be turned on-and-off only by removing the fluorescent tube. There was only one chair in the room; an old, uncomfortable thing that was so low it was almost impossible to use at the desk. There was no light on or above the desk. The outdoor carpet covering the sidewalk along the front of the units was worn, ripped, and ragged overall exemplifying the overall disregard for general maintenance. A pair of dress jeans were stolen from the room. (They had NOT, for instance, mistakenly fallen into one of the laundry baskets.) A compensatory rebate was initially offered but was shortly thereafter rescinded with a denial it had been made in the first place.

NOT worth the price I paid!

Posted Oct 5, 2013
Where to start? Room: The room was horribly outdated. There was dark paneling (circa 1975) on a couple of the walls and the other walls were painted cinder block walls. There were "hospital style" fluorescent lights over each bed and that was the only lighting in the room. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the place was clean. The ice bucket was an old, plastic ice cream container but, there was no ice machine on the property that I could find and there were no vending machines. When I asked about them, I was told that there is a bar right next door. Staff: The staff was mostly just taking up space. We were supposed to stay 2 nights and bad weather delayed us. I called the hotel directly and asked them about refunding me one night's stay instead of charging me a penalty and they agreed. Expedia then confirmed that with them when I called to modify my reservation. However, when I arrived at the hotel, I was told that I would be charged for that extra night because that's their policy. After a short "discussion" I got that matter sorted out. The next morning, we were getting packed up to leave and the housekeeping staff just opened the door and started to come in without even a knock. The long and short is that I would not recommend this place to anyone. It's out of the way. The staff was less than helpful. The room was NOT worth the price I paid for it and I was glad that we were only there for one night.

Pros: Not much
Cons: Bulldoze and start over
Our four night stay started out OK but then the beds were not made each day the towels were changed sometimes and sometimes not,. Trash cans sometimes emptyed and sometimes not. Parking was limited and getting to the entrance was difficult because of traffic.

Motel Hell

Posted Aug 10, 2013
Pros: NOTHING!!!!!
Cons: This place should be condemned and demolished.
Location: There were many shops, restaurants, a park and skiing in the winter.
Pulled in couldn't find parking place. Checked in at desk clerk didn't seem to know what was going on. Took bags from car that was parked on a patch of dirt next to the highway down crumbling concrete sidewalk stepping over 4 foot tall weeds. There were several men sitting outside their rooms with loud music that reverberated throughout the entire complex. Opened flimsy door into room with a queen size bed with just enough room to walk around it. There was a walk in closet, though. The carpet was thread bare and filthy. The towels were gray and looked as though they hadn't been washed. We had reserved the room for 2 nights and I immediately canceled the second. On the way to our room passed the residence of someone I assume was the owners, the window was uncovered and the place was filthy. There was a door in our room that adjoined the residence and while sitting on the bed (we had already decided to sleep on top of the bedspread and leave as early as we could) we heard something on the other side of the door that sounded like a small animal. We checked out immediately after only one hour and drove 3 hours in the pitch dark to another motel.

conviently located

Pros: location
Cons: Way over priced - needs updated room - paint the paneling
Location: Grand Teton, Jackson Hole
1970's decor - my kids got a laugh out of the TV. Room very clean but very out dated. Very expensive - we stayed in Park City Utah for $ 10 less a night then this motel - and it was a resort.
