Good stay except breakfast

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: Courteous staff
Cons: Breakfast and the staff at the breakfast
Location: Grand Tetons, scenic boat trip on Lake Jenny, Bar J Chuckwagon dinner. Need to have visitors center opened year round to the National Elk Reserve.
The hotel was convenient to the area activities and restaurants. The hotel staff was very helpful and curious. However the breakfast lefted a lot to be desired.

Stayed here twice on Yellowstone va cay.

Pros: Location, quiet and easy to find.
Cons: New mattresses!
Location: The drive to restaurants and shopping centers was brief and we were only a few minutes from the "down town".
Room clean, quiet but first night stay was disaster because bed was like sleeping on jello! WAY too soft and difficult to get into. Upon return to Jackson I had already booked same motel but got another room in another area. Bed was noticably firmer and more comfy. Got a decent night sleep. The continental breakfast was pretty good and made it easier since we had an early flight to catch and they opened at 6. If the beds on the first night stay were as comfortable as those the final night I would have rated this place much higher.

Dog Friendly, Close to Downtown, but Dingy Rooms

Posted Sep 2, 2014
We were glad to find a place in town that we could bring our dog, and while everything seemed functional, it just felt very outdated and dingy. The biggest problem was the one-inch gap between the door and the ground (you can see outside light from inside the room) which was letting in moths. We'd pull back the curtains or towels and a giant moth would fly out. First time I heard my husband scream like a girl! Ha! I'd say there were at least 6 or so moths in our room.

The staff was most helpful when I made a mistake on my reservation. They came quickly to the rescue and was able to fix the mistake with no additional charge. Very pleasant to work with over the phone.

good location

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: location
Location: location is one of the things this hotel had going for it. Weather permitting, you could walk to all the shops and town square from hotel.
We also spent 2 nights in the Jackson Hole Village & it was cheaper. We also stayed at the Virginian in Jackson and while it is on the outskirts of town, the room was also very clean, hotel staff helpful & a restaurant on premises that many locals visit and it was $80.00 cheaper a night.

Good location, cheap hotel.

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: better beds, linens, pillows and toiletries.
Location: restaurants, skiing, shopping
At first glance, the painted buffalo seems charming and quaint and the rooms are nicely decorated, but the overall quality of the room is pretty terrible-- threadbare sheets, minimal toiletries, and crappy lumpy pillows. The breakfast is of poor quality.

great location. very charming

the painted buffalo is in the perfect location. you can walk to the square and all over town and also drive out to Teton village easily. the place is cute- beautiful flowers, nice details. the staff is excellent. Nicole and Eloise were very professional and were able to give us all the information we needed about travel and events etc. the pool is nice. the rooms are comfortable. we would go back.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with what to do in Jackson. The hotel room was pretty standard but comfortable. Would have liked a hot breakfast instead of just continental but otherwise was very pleasant.
