Old but a goody

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Downtown and close to many restaurants. Check out roosters. It is older but nice and cool lodge feel. Free breakfast and wifi are a plus.

Convenient, but wouldn't stay here otherwise.

Posted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: Staff was pleasant
Cons: Cleanliness and decor
Close and quick to the Medical Center, but that is the only benefit to this hotel. The floor and room I stayed in smelled like smoke even though I was in a non-smoking room. I didn't even know you could still smoke in hotel rooms. Luckily, I brought slippers so I didn't have to walk barefoot. And I totally avoided taking a shower. I felt as though the shower was going to spring a leak if I turned it on. Instead, I cleaned up in the sink with luke warm water. The water through the coffee pot would have probably been warmer.

Awful

Posted May 23, 2014
Smelled like mildew. The tv did not work, two of the three lamps in the room actually had lightbulbs in them and the bottom of the bathroom door was rotten. I remember when this property was built in the early 70s and it has deterioated like the neighborhood since then.

Fun older hotel

Posted May 11, 2014
Cons: It needs a total update.
We had a great stay. I think the free breakfast and happy hour are a real bonus and make the fact that the hotel is dated kind of fun. It almost has a hunting lodge feel to it.

Unclean

Posted May 8, 2014
Pros: lobby
Cons: staff that greets upon arrival. no hello only can i help you.
You could tell the room was half clean by all of the black hair in the tub. all around shower walls. I dont know if it was because we found a cheaper cost on expedia, but it seems the 4th floor was not clean. The bed linen smelled old. I only stayed because it was close to hospital. I bought cleaner and cleaned myself.

I am certain that we could have changed rooms for you and provide a more comfortable experience. Sincerely, Ronnie Roe, General Manager

Nice hotel near the Fondren

Posted Apr 16, 2014
I stayed in this hotel for it's proximity to the Fondren neighborhood, the artsy district of Jackson. It is a funky, fun neighborhood to spend a weekend in. I was going to stay in downtown where most of the other hotels are until I was advised that there is nothing there especially on the weekends. I am so happy that I found the Cabot Lodge to stay at.

Good hotel but dated

Posted Mar 5, 2014
Staff friendly and room was clean. Breakfast was very good. Decor a bit dated but functional. Location is borderline sketchy. Staff was not knowledgeable about good places for dinner ... suggest they have a short list prepared for handout.
