When it’s time escape the city, head to the nearby green spaces. Enjoy some of the pleasant city parks such as Pioneer Park, Aquatic Park and Allyne Park. Put on your hiking shoes and explore the popular natural parks for which this area is famous, such as the TransAmerica Redwood Forest.
If you have time in and around Jackson Square, treat yourself with a visit to Coit Tower, Grace Cathedral and the Yerba Buena Gardens. The San Francisco area features some fascinating relics from yesteryear; be sure not to miss Fort Mason and the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. Those who enjoy visiting sacred places will appreciate the care and devotion that has gone into creating the St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Saints Peter and Paul Church and the Glide Memorial United Methodist Church.
Go to Ghirardelli Square, Embarcadero Center and Crocker Galleria to scratch that shopping itch.
