Very old property- amazing view, scenic propertyPosted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: The location was great for us and the grounds are beautiful.
Cons: The entire property needs renovating. It is dated, worn and smelly.
Location: There are all sorts of things to do nearby, poker room, dog track, shopping, near to St. Augustine.
This property is very old and could do with a major facelift. The area around the property is so beautiful and scenic, but the rooms leave a lot to be desired. Had a riverview room which smelled of mildew due to the old carpeting in the room. The carpeting was wavy and worn and needs to be replaced. The weekend we went was the Georgia/Florida game and everything was sold out and we paid a premium for this room which was way, way overpriced for what you get. The a/c thermostat had a note for you not to turn the air below 73 degrees or the entire unit would freeze and then you would not be guaranteed to have any a/c. It was so hot the first night, but I was afraid to turn the a/c below 73. If it had been any hotter I believe I would have had to go to my car and turn on the a/c to cool off. The room had 2 beds (both were only full size) - it was only my husband and I so we just each took a bed because it was plain to hot for both of us to squish into full size bed when you are used to a king or queen. The pillows needed to be replaced as does the bed linens in the room. If they are going to charge 4 star prices then this property definitely needs to work of getting a facelift. Check-in and check-out was smooth. Probably would only stay here again if nothing else in the area was available otherwise I give it a thumbs down on rebooking for us.

This former Palmolive mansion now running as a B&B is a wonderful, secluded garden on the St. John river. The room is elegant, with modern bath mixed with a beautifully furnished room. A patio door leads out to a patio just steps from the water and expansive view of the river. The breakfast was tasty and enjoyed in a very elegant dining room that looks out onto gardens and a river view. We will return to enjoy this stay again when in Jacksonville and Orange Park, Fl.

Best B&B ever!!!!Posted Apr 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
The facility and grounds take you back to the 1930's. Just beautiful. Staff was unbelievable and everything was perfect. The morning breakfast was 1st class and made you want to get up to take advantage of great food. The grounds were worth the stay and the river view was awsome. We will be back and would advise all our friends to book a stay.

Everything was wonderful. Not many people staying at facility the week prior to Chrisymas. The restaraunt is closed on weekends (a pity} but Whiteys Fish camp is not fat.

The villa was absolutely beautiful, linens were incredibly clean and comfortable, bathroom had huge bathtub, and wireless internet was very good throughout the villa. There is also a sunporch for all guests. Staff were very welcoming and check-in checkout process was very simple. I felt safe at all times and was away from all the noise of the highway which is only a few minutes away. Only down was due to the small size-they have a limited breakfast- many restaurants nearby. Will visit again. Highly reccomend.
A relaxing weekendPosted Jun 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
A delightful B & B. Unfortunately we hit a night on Graduation and very loud music disturbed our evening... The continental breakfast could be improved but the menu breakfsat was great. Pool and garden areas are lovely. Great for walking along the river. We will be back. Harry, was so helpful and looked after us well.

Nice place for a weekend getawayPosted May 29, 2012 on Hotels.com
I thought that this was a great place for a weekend getaway. We went with the continental suite and it was newly remodeled and a really great place. The room was affordable, and the only difference between here and a 5 star resort was some of the amenities available. We had a fantastic dinner at the hotel, and the service was great. The bar was cozy, but definitely an older cliental. The furniture at the bar was also a bit dated. All in all, a great trip and I strongly recommend it!

This is our 2nd time staying at Club Continental. The location is outstanding. The water view is wonderful. The gardens are georgeous. Our room was charming! Large, clean and well appointed. Old world charm. Compktmentary breakfast was yummy and cooked to our satisfaction. We will stay here again when we are visiting our mother-in-law .
