Convenient, Clean, Close

Great service, checked in early with no issues. Pool was great for the kids, the room was clean. Was able to print of airline tickets night before and LOVED that is was so close to the airport for an early flight.

Good Reasonably Priced Doubletree

I stayed at this hotel when traveling to Florida for Easter Weekend in 2015. It was a reasonably priced hotel (just over $100 after taxes) convienently located next to Jacksonville's airport and 2 miles west of I-95. Overall it was a good stay for the following reasons- *It was a very sound sleep despite being next to the airport, *the atmosphere and ambiance felt very Florida-ey in that it was a crisp breezy air that felt like summer outside the hotel, *the rooms had large beds and were very well presented. *The overall atmosphere of the hotel on the inside is clean and inviting. *there was an excellent fitness facilty *There was a good bar and restaurant that provided outdoor seating. * The weekend I stayed there, an Arena Football League Team also stayed there to give one the idea this is a good place to stay if traveling in a large group. Overall, it was a good stay, the worst things I'd say about this hotel is the parking seemed a little far from the door and the staff while courteous needed to be reminded of the complimentary cookies that come at Doubletree. I'd definetly recommend one stay here if looking for options in this area.

Reliable Hotel with great Airport Access

I think the title says it all. If you are departing really early in the morning staying at this hotel is super convenient. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hilton hotels are dependable for quality.

Disappointed

Pros: Staff, renovation and decor was marvelous.
Cons: Add insulation and get better reception on TVs. TV was very grainy...like in the 1960s.
Location: zoo, airport, shopping
We stayed at this motel twice during the renovation. It was ok for the price. The renovation is great however there is no insulation between rooms and the noise level coming from the adjoining room was awful. The first night, we heard someone snoring! The second night was worst with inconsiderate party animals. We could hear everything as if they were standing next to us! Cutting corners on cost of insulation was a terrible decision.

Convenient to JAX

Pros: location to the airport, cleanliness, friendly staff, and comfortable bed!
Location: Talbot beach was about 30 minutes away and offers hiking and biking trails as well as a beautiful beach to look for shells, sand dollars, and starfish
This hotel is very convenient to travelers passing through Jacksonville International Airport. During our stay I learned that this Doubletree location opened only a few weeks ago, prior to that it was owned by another chain. The hotel is beautifully renovated, but the services are needing some work. Since our flight was cancelled we decided to visit the local area. We left early in the morning and returned around dinner time, our room was untouched by housekeeping (bed still unmade, no fresh towels, etc). I didn't mind the towels, as we usually reuse anyway, but it is nice to be a little lazy while on vacation and come back to a straightened bed. The restaurant was not fully up and running, but they had a few choices, and the food looked good. We only ordered an appetizer, and it was delicious. The bar was not fully stocked yet either, but the bartender was able to come up with plenty of choices, as long as it wasn't a frozen drink. I would stay here again, based on cleanliness, friendliness, and location to the airport. And I am sure once they are completely up and running all the kinks will be worked out!

Handy location, inconsistent service

When traveling we don't ask for much. We're experienced and generally take travel bumps in stride. When we checked in at 4:25 PM, our suite wasn't ready. We waited about 15 minutes and it was finally prepared... sort of. As it turns out, we were short towels and a bath mat. This shortage wasn't noticed until we were ready to shower. I called housekeeping, explained the situation and they promised to send replacements. Forty minutes later, I called again. Twenty minutes after that - an hour after the initial call - we got our missing linens. No big deal? Tell my wife who couldn't shower so we could have dinner until the towels arrived. An hour is a long time to answer "where are they" questions.
