Pros: Close to Mayport.
The place is ok, but for the money there are better places to stay. The water pressure in the shower was very weak. There was no security latch on the door. This hotel has seen better days. However, if you need to be close to Mayport, this hotel is convenient.

Expected more

They always give different prices. What is up with that? The prices have gone up since the name has changed and they didn't do anything to upgrade the hotel clean the pool or anything. I will continue to use the hotel but hopefully I will get a price that stays consistent since we are there several times a month. My number is 904-305-4581 if anyone has questions.

Horrible

Posted Jun 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel and room was horrible. When first arrived in the room there were sunflower seeds, gnats and dead bugs in the bathroom. Lightning very dim. Room smelled damp and old. Horrible experience I did not sleep the 4 hrs we stayed there. I would rather sleep in my car anyday. I do not recommend anyone staying here

Pros: close enough to the beach
Cons: for the money, place is ok. Bathroom had several minor problems, water not draining etc.
Location: beach, of course, Hanna Park
It was ok, Hanna Park a couple miles away. We stayed two nights.

Comfortable and inexpensive

Posted May 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
It is an older hotel (30+ years) very close to Mayport Naval Station, which has seen better days. The bed was clean and comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the price was inexpensive. There is free Wi-Fi and a nice breakfast buffet with biscuits and gravy, waffles, cold cereal, pastries, coffee and juice. It is also the only hotel nearby with an attached bar. The bar doesn't serve food, but there are plenty of places that will deliver to your room or the bar. On the down side the pool was closed for maintenance during my stay and the rooms need new carpet and fixtures. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to sleep for a couple of nights it is fine. If you are looking for a place to relax for a vacation, stay down by the beach.

Excellent value for the price

We had a minor problem with the keyless lock system for our room, but they immediately addressed the problem and moved us to a better room at no charge. This occurred at 10:30PM at night and the maintenance person had left for the day. Great customer service. Very comfortable and clean rooms.

Hotel changed from Comfort Inn to EconoLodge

Pros: It was close to one of the best Thai restaurants we have been to, and we love Thai. Two blocks away as Simply Tasty Thai - Great place to eat!
Cons: Information - we should have been informed that it had changed ownership before we paid for it!
Hotel changed ownership one week before we arrived (AND it was before we booked it). Had we known it was an Econolodge we would NOT have booked it. The room smelled nice when we walked in and after a quick look we went to dinner. We drove around Atlantic Beach and did not arrive back until late. The carpet was badly stained and had paint chips on the floor by the door, the mini fridge froze our fruit overnight, and a used wash rag was on the shower rod. We will not be staying there again.
