An Anniversary TripPosted Nov 30, 2013
Pros: Location, location, location, the friendly and helpful staff and the wonderful breakfasts.
Cons: It's an old old hotel and as such, the rooms are very small and with few amenities. Understand this going in - it won't be like a modern motel.
Location: Covered above
A few days in Fernandina to celebrate our anniversary and explore the area. We had been here last spring on an Elderhostel of kayaking but didn't have time to see much of the town or area. We managed to hit a week which included a cold front with rain and lots of wind so some of our "to dos" didn't get done. We took the Trolley Tour during the rain storm and it was excellent with a lot of information about the town and the old homes. It would be perfect to do the first day to get the "lay of the land". Visited Fort Clinch which is certainly worth a visit with its buildings, artifacts, reenactments and excellent video presentation. The restaurants are numerous and generally very good. The hotel staff is just excellent - in fact, the entire town is ultra friendly and helpful - that alone is enough to bring you back.

Better than expectedPosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Friendly, accommodating staff. Clean room (except for dust on the blades of the ac unit), nice towels, lots of porches, great courtyard space.
Cons: AC was noisy, and not super efficient--had to run constantly.
Location: Perfect location--parked and walked to town, dinner, etc. Quaint bar right next door--connects to inn through a walkway on the side.
Have stayed in Fernandina for years. Most B & B's there are overpriced. So we saw this affordable one online, and decided to give it a try. We had a great overnight stay. We will go back.

Old and ComfortablePosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: The gardens out back with porches surrounding were lovely--a very relaxing setting.
Location: Lots to do nearby--beautiful beaches, Ft. Clinch State Park, lots of various shops with local art, some antiques, many wonderful restaurants.
Great place to stay to be close to downtown Fernandina Beach to visit local shops and restaurants. The hotel building is a historical landmark from the 1800's, very well preserved and kept and very comfortable. The staff there was excellent. The breakfast was wonderfully prepared and served in a lovely dining room setting. The only complaint is the outdoor bar located near the north side of the building (The Green Turtle, I think) was very loud until about 11 pm. If we stay there again it may not be over a busy weekend or request a different room, not one overlooking the bar.

nice but oldPosted Sep 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
This place is great but know it's the oldest hotel in florida so the bathroom is small and the sink in room 9 was the smallest i have ever seen. That said the people are the best. Great breakfast. One of the best small inn's I have been in.

Very relaxing with charmPosted Aug 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
This Inn is right in the middle of Historic Fernandina. You can walk to everything with many quaint shops and restaurants. I love the two front porches and the beautiful courtyard with the mermaid fountain, flowers and a 300 year old oak tree. The full breakfast was delicious both of my mornings. Would recommend to anyone.

We go back again and again...Posted Jul 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
...this little inn is one of our favorites in Fernandina. Lots of historic charm, comfortable beds, an awesome staff, and and excellent breakfast. This little hotel has everything you could want... except maybe a pool. But we go back over and over because of the location in the middle of everything downtown. Walk to dinner, shops, and nightlife. Easy drive to the beach. And did I mention the awesome staff -- so accommodating! Can't wait for our next visit!
