A Stay to remember

Pros: Mulligan's restaurant was very good and friendly. We were near the Sawgrass Country Club and shopping areas along with beaches at Punta Gorda.
Cons: The entrance was under construction along with the shopping center next to it. Perhaps that will improve.
Location: Within driving distance is St. Augustin (with tours) and the PGA Hall of Fame. Jacksonville Beach is lovely.
We stayed at the Hilton Garden on PGA drive near Punta Gorda. The staff was very welcoming and we enjoyed the entire time and convenience of eating at the hotel also. We visited nearby Jacksonville Beach also and the PGA Hall of Fame.

A one-night stay to play golf

Pros: Room and staff.
Cons: Request a means of payment other than the credit card I reserved it under. The bill should give me that option.
Location: Great location to play TPC Sawgrass. It allowed me to take in the entire TPC experience (course, clubhouse, 19th hole drinks, and dinner there.
Very nice greeting when I got there. They answered all of my questions. The room was very nice. The only issue is that I wanted to pay cash for the room but they automatically charged my credit card prior to the actual check-out. Good experience. I would definitely stay there again.

Good location for playing golf at Sawgrass

Pros: The sheets, pillows, and most of all, the staff.
Cons: Refurbish the rooms, bathrooms, and more electrical outlets.
Location: Sawgrass golf courses, and the PGA Golf Hall of Fame. Both were excellent.
Our experience at the Hilton Garden was excellent regarding the staff. They were so nice and helpful - we had to send a fax, and they took care of everything for us. So nice. The room however, is long overdue for a refurbishing. The toilet is too short for today's height of people, the shower was clean, but old and had vinyl walls, the carpet was not very clean, and was worn. The sheets were soft and new-ish, and the pillows were excellent. The sink area had only one outlet and was out-of-date. Their breakfast are was clean and cheerful, and the food prepared by their chef was very good. In short, the hotel needs a major renovation, and then it will have 5 stars.

Ponte Verde Beach

Christmas visit to Florida. The staff was very helpful and friendly. This hotel is close to beaches and golfing. Historic St. Augustine is 25 minutes South. Well worth a stay.

Close to TPC

Pros: Location, nice people
Cons: room décor, very dull. poor lighting, old furniture,
Location: TPC golf, 10 min to beach
Exterior and lobby are very up to date. the rooms are tired and rather dull.

Great staff. Smiles, greetings and "can I help you?" from everyone. Nice, clean room. Included breakfast for 2 in the Hotels.com booking for about $7 more and received breakfast that would have cost $22.
