“Who Knew A Holiday Inn Could Be So Nice?!?”

My partner and I were visiting Orange Park to see my family. We wanted to stay close to where everyone lived. We were presently surprised as to how nice a Holiday Inn could be in that area. The hotel was clean, well maintained, and fresh. The room was no less then perfect. You could tell they take time to clean and disinfect everything from the previous guest. The whole time we were at the hotel we never saw anything out of place or unclean. The staff was simply AMAZING! They went out of their way to say a genuine good morning, have a nice day, and smile (everyone from the front desk person, house keeping, wait staff and the maintenance people). One night we decided after a long day of family time to go out for a drink. The front desk person (I wish I had written down her name) went out of her way to get us a cab at 11:00pm. We have no doubt as to where we will be staying on our next trip!!

Area recommendations

Driving around the Riverside/Avondale area and looking at the homes is a lot of fun! If you are staying in the Orange Park area check out River Road, it is a great little drive with old homes, wonderful views of the river bank and the big old oak trees are breathtaking. Anywhere along the river walk is also a great place to check out if you are heading downtown.

Getting around

It is best to rent a car with a navigation system. The area is growing so quick that it can be a bit confusing.

What to pack

Mosquito repellent!! If you are going during the spring or summer they are out in full force in the Orange Park / Jacksonville area.

Nightlife

If you are a member of the LGBT community and only in town for a few days check out the Metro Dance Club on the weekends. There is a lot under one roof, there are lots of other great "dive" bars around too check out the local "rags".

Events and shows

The annual Jazz Festival is always a good time and try to also hit the "Opening of the Beaches". Jax beach always has something going on during the spring and summer months.

“Arbin”

The hotel is in a great location, the pool was clean, the food at the restaurant was very good. The room (we got upgraded to a suite...not sure why, but did not complain about it) was huge, which was great due to the fact that it served as a "home base" for are extended family that was also staying at the hotel for a wedding over the weekend. If in the area...I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

“"Orange Park Best Hotel"”

Beautiful decor, clean & comfortable hotel/suite, most of all the warmest waitress', but the day-time reception desk clerk need to be reviewed by the establishment about her courtesy to all customers. Otherwise I must say after my arrival in Orange Park & seeing other holes, Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Orange Park is the BEST!

“Week Long Stay”

Being forced to stay in a hotel for a long stay, this hotel met and exceeded our expectations for things being clean and in good repair for a florida hotel. The staff was very nice and accommodating. -----That coming from a bed& breakfast set!

Area recommendations

The Orange Park area is one of the newer, cleaner and safer areas of Jacksonville. It also provided easy access to the interstates.
