Affordable hotel. Friendly staff. Needs some updates, new carpet, elevators that work, mattress was horrible and needed to be replaced.

This was one of the most miserable stays that I can recall in a number of years. The hotel did not let anyone know that it was under renovation. The entire hotel smells like tobacco smoke. Stomping all night above my room after letting desk attendant know...Will never stay here again and will not recommend to anyone...

The carpet and couch in my room were so stained and dirty I didn’t want to walk on the carpet. The refrigerator made so much noise I knew I would not sleep. I asked for and received a different room which was marginally better. The desk clerk told me they are getting ready to replace all the carpet. Too bad I came before it happened. It really looked like the place had not been maintained well even so.

Mainstay Suite Jacksonville
I was not told upfront there was an extra charge of over $100 on each of my rooms. I only knew by checking my online banking the next morning. When I questioned another person at the desk I was told I should not have been charged and the charges would drop off. That is not the point to be holding $200 of my money. As I explained to the desk that could have been all my vacation $ for all they knew. I was told I could call my bank and have it released again I could but I shouldn't have to. The couch was stained up and the sheets had something black on it and when I tried to brush it off it smeared. I think it came from the ac unit. The coffee table in the center of the room the legs were wobbly. We had to get assistance to even get the tv to come on. Not a terrible place to stay just needs updating and need to be upfront about fees.
