Good stay during hotel down season

Posted Nov 26, 2014
Positives - friendly, helpful staff; Food quality was good at on-site restaurants; wide variety of activities for families. Suggested areas of improvement - free coffee in lobby; need to update bathrooms in older section of hotel; hotel layout is awkward (better signage needed).

nice hotel on the beach

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: location right on the beach is excellent, dog friendly beach
Cons: rooms were very dated, definitely needed to be refurbished
Location: nice roads for biking
My husband and dog,had a pleasant weekend escape. Nice island restaurants and safe walking and bike trails. We got a discount from the web in room rates but were very disappointed in the aging room. Thinking that if we paid full rate we would have been in one of the newly renovated rooms? If hotel wasn't full why would they not give us a better room?

Very nice and relaxing

It's well worth paying the extra for the new Premier rooms. The Deluxe rooms are tired and need a refresh!

Great birthday gift for daughter

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Booked as a birthday weekend getaway for my daughter with her husband and 5 yr old child. She can't stop talking about how nice everything was and says it was a great birthday idea. They especially enjoyed the nature trails with play areas and talking bird along the way. Having the trolley take them to the various areas of the resort was a very nice experience. They also enjoyed dinner at the Veranda. Nice presentation of the meals.

Nice Family Vacation Resort

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Cons: The hotel lobby staff can be a bit stiff. Also there is no such thing as a late checkout at this hotel. 4 visits later and its still not available!
Had another pleasing experience at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great resort hotel.

We enjoyed our short stay in the Sunrise Terrace though there has only been a renovation of soft goods. We preferred this wing as it was not overlooking the pool. The higher the floor, the better the view. These rooms are 15-20 sq. fts. smaller than those in the Oceanview wing. All rooms on property have an ocean view. The pool area was nice though I think would benefit by more greenery and flowering plants as there were none. The breakfast buffet is the best deal in town and was very good. Staff was lovely and very accommodating. Music each evening in the lounge and relaxing in a rocking chair around the fire pits and fireplaces was a pleasant way to end the evenings. One negative, you must pay for your chairs on the beach. This should be included in the resort fee that you pay.

Pros: View, pool, beach, dining options
Cons: Stronger Wi-Fi
Beautiful ocean view from all rooms. Good food on-site and at surrounding restaurants/shops, many owned by the resort. We had different chocolates in our room each night as part of the turn-down service. Even on Labor Day weekend with a packed resort, we still received excellent service and attention.

Great facility in a great location

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: There were lots of activities, especially for children. Kids loved it. We had no reason, or much desire, to leave the resort.
Cons: Sliding doors to balcony are heavy and make some noise, you can hear other rooms nearby opening and closing the door. Only an inconvenience at night.
Location: Downtown Fernandina was nice. Pablo's Mexican restaurant was very good.
Was very happy with this trip, in fact decided to stay an extra night. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Amelia Island is a great place. I was born and raised in Florida and I was impressed. I would definitely like to go back again. I am not a golfer but the little I saw of the course looked impressive. I suspect a golfer would enjoy it even more.
