Pros: The pools and hottubs were great. The little gym near our room was nice and the big gym was terrific! We loved the view from our room.
We had a marvelous time! We spent a great 4 days on spring break here enjoying the pools, and facilities. We ate at local restaraunts, boated around Cumberland Island, biked around the resort and spent time at the pool in between all the rest. The beach was wonderfully clean. It was a wonderful family atmosphere.

Spring Break 2015Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Our family enjoyed the breakfast buffet, pools, Falcon's Nest restaurant and exploring the beautiful grounds.
Cons: Room was clean and comfortable, but not immaculate. (We are picky on cleanliness.)
Location: Visited the Jacksonville zoo -only 40 minutes away, toured Fort Clinch & also enjoyed walking around/tried several restaurants in Historic downtown.
Relaxing family vacation. Great pool, restaurants and grounds.

Beautiful Property, Great Service, Will ReturnPosted Mar 30, 2015
We stayed with our two teenagers. Played golf, tennis on the beautiful courses and courts. Walked on the beach, sat by the pool protected from wind and played mini-golf on a quiet, woodland course that is very challenging! Road horses on the beach (Kelly Ranch) and ate delicious food. We're pretty picky and loved our stay. Downside: Our room-a double queen-had a beautiful ocean view and small balcony that seats two or three at most, but the bathroom, especially the tub/toilet area needs updating. Not yucky-just dated and mire than made up for by the other luxuries. Beds comfy with wonderful sheets and pillows. The staff is fabulous. Don't worry about size of property-it's huge but most of the acreage is undeveloped/nature preserve. This is not the concrete, commercial southern Florida (which we love in a different way). The Shuttle buses take you anywhere, on call, and the range of experiences you can have on this property are incredibly varied: board walks to quiet marshlands, busy little enclaves of shops and never-ending, wide and natural beaches where you can walk for miles in relative isolation! All accessible by bike, shuttle or foot. We will be back next year.

Unexpected surprisePosted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: The view from our room was great. Also loved the easy access to the beach.
Cons: A little more knowledge of all amenities. Startled the first night by the Turn Down Service since we were not expecting someone to come in our room.
Location: We went there to see the Concourse de Elegance.
We had a lovely time at the Amelia Plantations. When we arrived we were upgraded to a suite. The rooms were large and roomy. Also we could have stayed at the hotel and never leave due to all the great restaurants, pools, beach, and shopping. We plan to go back again.

The Ritz must be sold out if staying here.Posted Mar 18, 2015
Pros: the breakfast buffet was the only nice thing.
Cons: The place is a dump. They are milking it for as long as they can. If they want more than 180 a night i would definitely look elsewhere.
Location: Southern tip of island. Fernandina Beach is about a 10 minute drive.
Stayed here during the Amelia Concours car show - this means that the prices are inflated 100% to start off with. Right at the security gate is where my issues began; the guard would not let me park my car with car trailer on the property. He told me i had to park it on a designated lot up the road which i then did. That lot was a public beach parking lot with no lights and no security - not cool when parking Concours ready cars. When i spoke to the manager on duty that night he told me there is nothing he can do for me. The room: stayed in one of the ocean view villas. well, it had the view of a sand dune. behind it which was not visible was the ocean. the pillows were made out of foam and the mattresses had actual springs in them still which popped when rolling over. there were also ants that marched through my room. they kept to themselves but still irritable when paying so much. the maid service did also not come by at the villas. forget using the villa phone - all you get is a busy signal whether at 9pm, 8am, noon or even at 3am. i had to go to the front desk (a maze of a path from the villa) to demand the service. All in all it is a terrible hotel. Outdated everything. The villa seemed like a huge Motel 6 quality apartment. If you have to be on that island, go with the Ritz - if you do not want to spend that money i would recommend staying somewhere cheap off the island - where at least you dont have to pay a lot for such terrible accommodations.

Pros: Staff were all friendly and helpful. Great location, beautiful beach views. Breakfast buffet was of high quality.
Cons: Within the resort road signs could perhaps be larger and clearer.
It was early evening when we arrived and getting to the hotel itself past the gates was a bit difficult due to the confusing signs which were all writ small. Probably a small price to pay because when we finally found the hotel we were impressed by the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean, the beds were really nice and comfy, the fridge and safe were welcome amenities. The shower stall though was a challenge. It was designed for easily accessibility but had a short shower curtain and so water would flood out and out to the hallway. After the first time we lined the floor with thick towels to stem the flood. Other than that messy little problem we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast buffet was first-rate, the pool and beach facilities looked great (wish we could have indulged but the weather was not cooperative.)

Amelia Island is beautiful!Posted Mar 6, 2015
Pros: Close to the beach and very accessible from the hotel.
Cons: The entry to the hotel was a little complicated but not a big deal.
Location: We only stayed for one night so can't talk about this much.
We had a wonderful experience! I would stay here again should we be back to Amelia Island. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The food at the Oceanside restaurant is excellent!

Nice resort; but a little tired!Posted Mar 2, 2015
At first I thought the report was lovely but, it is massive and our room had recently been "remodeled". It looked nice enough but, there was a definite smell of mildew! I think they had re done the room due to some type of water damage. And, it was too far from the lobby; it felt like we walked a half of a mile st least!

Just OK....Posted Feb 23, 2015
Certainly not worth the price, thought Omni was a five star resort. Minimal support staff, room smelled musty all the time, bathroom was lacking.... It was just ok...
